My retired alley girl took about 8 months to let me pet her after daily feeds, lulz. She now loves it when I give her a good combing.
8 months? That's equivalent to 15 human years!
Who cares about the stupid cat?
I do, Asperger.
It's useless unless you have a mouse problem and the cat is a mouser.
The main thing is that it's useless in this forum.
Lightening the mood isn’t an offense.
How does a random cat photo lighten the mood? I could understand a funny meme, but a random cat photo with no context?
Asperger people CAN’T understand a meme or lighten the mood. They try, I will give you that.
But I do understand memes and can tell some wicked jokes. I just don't see a meme in that stupid cat photo.
Gotcha. I just wanted to pet the cat in person.
I think at that point, you look at the poster's history/motive. If someone who doesn't makes a lot of OPs showed us this picture, I'd be a bit sentimental, and would think this person really loves their cat and wants to share that love with their best frens.
now if someone who makes a lot of OPs showed us this picture, i wouldn't take it as seriously and just move on.
let it fade by lack of interest, I also might think it's a joke, and not actually that person's cat.
People can lighten the mood for themselves by visiting another comm where cat pics are on topic.
Let’s see what the Asperger is all about.
She is beautiful.
Man, I would take her!
Ghosts... everywhere...

Ain't afraid of no ghosts
What next? Posting pictures of our favorite guns?
Maybe I should start a discussion of 100 OZ englahard silver bars.
Hey, Sunday gunday is almost a holiday at this point on Patriots
Yes ,but we are not on patriots,we have plenty off off topic disscution, but we don't need to slid the forum even more. The internet is filled with places to post cat pictures,we only have one Gaw.
Ive had feral alley cats that come up to me over the years and Ive learned quite a bit and honed my skills during the shut downs. I noticed they have a certain etiquette. You can approach them, but keep your hands behind your back. Only take a couple steps at a time, and let them return in kind. They may rub into especially if you leave them food, but that is not permission to take your hands out and pet them. Most can't stand seeing your hand. Even when you do start petting them its when they rub into you walking away and they don't see the hand, even though they know it is. It's weird and everyone of them is different. Hint: most (not all) love fresh grilled chicken.
Dang, she's clean for being feral and snow white.
sweet pearl
She scared, look at her tail. Goes puffy when they freak out.
It’s naturally that way. Not scared at all.
I bet you could pet her in exchange for some canned tuna
offer her tuna- it takes time to gain a feral cats trust
Beautiful kitty.
I have a lot of feral cats around. The ones I've been able to trap and neuter get a little tamer, but females less than males. If they grow up wild they stay that way whereas sometimes the males get docile. The only one that was really "wild" is a female which would hiss and start fights and bully the others and even attack me. After she was spayed she was a little better. I realized she was not even socialized to other cats and could not meow. So I started meowing at her. Not this well https://youtu.be/O5bJJviAX0c, but she was stunned and paid attention. Very greedy for canned food and would get focused on it enough for a quick pet. Still, sniffing my fingers is the friendliest she's become in four years. If you learn a way, please let us know.
I have 4 cats...all picked up from outside. The old one and then 3 feral rescues from a litter that I have raised since 3 weeks. One drop of Rescue Remedy in the water bowl helps to calm a cat and I keep Pet Naturals calming chews for full moons or when the rescues (now 7) are mean to the old cat (16). Both are very effective.
There is nothing (outside of grandkid's hugs and kisses) that compares to multiple furry cats on your lap or bed purring in stereo. I could probably be a crazy cat lady but I'll just admit to being fond of my little family of cats...such warmth, unconditional love and devotion.
