Being technical, I suppose, but there is no 'right to fly'.
There is the pretense of freedom of movement but that's countered at every turn.
Airlines are nationalized in the sense that they operate on tax breaks and 'innitiatives' yet are private companies or stock-held corporations.
Freedom as corporate control is an oxymoron.
She comes off as being entitled to fly. And while we're at it she should define ordinary people.
I am definitely not saying there's something afoot here, but her diatribe is questionable too.
Now extend that to grocery stores. Would you consider it an infringement if you couldn’t go in to a grocery store?
It'd be blessing. I'd just send the wife like I always do.
Depends on how long it lasts. More than a couple of years might be an inconvenience to me.
I'm very slowly agreeing that we're in-fact property of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, INC.
As long as Airlines are supported by the government through tax breaks they don't care if they fly people or not. As long as they still get paid they do not care.
Did you know that before 1913 nobody could fly?? Did the world stop? Nope.
If you really want to scare people, start saying that the Internet will be shut off in 3 years.
The Wright Brothers flew the first powered heavier-than-air craft in 1903.
Thanks Fren, my memory is fading.
Worrying, hope this does not happen - all my family are overseas. These people need to be stopped!
I'm overseas and hope this doesn't happen. I've been overseas for a long time actually, and don't really know how to not be without abandoning some people I care deeply about right now, but I'd sure like to not be overseas one of these days.
There is a reason personal aircraft are much more expensive now.
I can drive to anywhere I would ever want to go. I don't know a single person in another country. I've never been in an airplane. I'd rather drive and see the sights along the way and be able to take side trips on a whim.
A shortage of pilots isn't an "excuse". It's a reality.
My dad was in the Air Force, he was a commercial pilot after leaving the Air Force, the military taught him to fly for free because back in the 70s they needed tons of pilots. If not for the military he never would have become a pilot because it is extremely expensive to get a commercial pilot's license and takes thousands of hours of flight time before you can fly a large airliner.
Now most of the cold war era guys are retired or nearing retirement age and the pool the airlines have to hire new guys is a lot shallower.
This isn’t accurate, that applies only to tourists/visitors. US citizens can get back to US w no vax.
