Typical with blood thinners like Xarelto and Coumadin. A little bang of the hand on a table or other obstacle, results in a bruise. Happens to me frequently.
This is a personal reply. Cayenne is the best blood thinner there is... Well sort of. It is a very powerful vasodillator. It doesn't mess with your blood clotting ability like petro-chemical drugs may. It protects your heart and It can save a life instantly in an emergency. It even fights several types of cancer. I take a combination of cayenne and ginger pills with a meal. The cayenne is effective for the outbound blood flow and ginger is good for the return flow. These natural supplements are better than any Allopathic medicine there is. It will stop a heart attack or stroke in its tracks. And it also stops bleeding. Watch this video.. NOTE: For heart attacks and bleeding ONLY USE LIQUID FORM as a tea or tincture. NEVER use capsules for that. Cayenne starts its work in the mouth. This is very important. The author of this article carries the tincture with them wherever they go.
"New research just published in the journal Circulation concludes that a common, over-the-counter pain salve containing capsaicin rubbed on the skin during a heart attack could serve as a cardiac-protectant — reducing or even preventing damage to the heart. The researchers found an amazing 85 percent reduction in cardiac cell death when capsaicin was used. This is the most powerful cardioprotective effect ever recorded, according to Keith Jones, PhD, a researcher in the UC department of pharmacology and cell biophysics."
To make a tincture of cayenne for emergencies, here is a good source. It can be carried with you at all times and the tincture lasts indefinitely.

While it's true that the hands in question are in fact bruised, many of us over 30 have grandparents in their 70s and 80s+. Bruising is fairly normal. The skin becomes thinner as we age, so there is less protection of the blood vessels.
That happens to old ppl when they get an IV.
Fairly normal for old people...they bruise easily. Probably a side effect of all the pills they take.
