BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
You asked, threatened, even offered bribes (no joke, someone PM'd me, offering me $1,000) to fix the way our WIN's search works, and, for so long, our answer has sucked. We can't. As a .WIN, we benefit from the (may peace be upon their devs) main codebase given to all the WINs by the devs. So sometimes, when search doesn't work, we can't really do anything about it.
UNTIL NOW.
Thanks to our in-house coding genius, u/Bubble_Bursts, we have found a way to AWESOMEIZE our .WIN's search via a convenient .JS addon script you can download into your browser that adds some rogue, unauthorized features!
The script lets you scroll forever 'till the end (no pages, which makes searching for something way easier), and, well, that's it. But that's pretty fricking awesome and saves a ton of time!
Here's how to get it:
STEP ONE
Get TamperMonkey for your browser here.
Tampermonkey is the most popular userscript manager, with over 10 million users. It's available for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera Next, and Firefox.
STEP TWO:
Download the script. TamperMonkey will automatically install it. Get it here:
https://files.catbox.moe/29hfz4.js
NOTE: If it doesn't automatically install, you will have to make the script inside the TamperMonkey's dashboard. If this proves necessary for lots of users, would one of you mind whipping up some quick instructions? I'll paste them here.
That's it! Oh. One more script is coming as soon as u/Bubble_Bursts is finished with it that will also awesomize a different feature.
Any suggestions? Please send us a DETAILED modmail.
Enjoy!

(kidding, can you decode that?)
Does silk have tampermonkey extension? Or any other means for injecting javascript? If so, we might be able to make it work.
I have no Idea...this is the first time that I have heard of tapermonkey..... Silk is the amazon fire browser on their version of android.... I periodically search for other anon recommended browsers but have yet to find any available...... A quick search of "tampermonkey for silk" reveals no leads..
Ah, chances of this working on a device is pretty slim.
I believe I'm right, but though Silk is a Chromium fork (IIRC) Amazon doesn't like letting users have that kind of freedom with it.
I have an Amazon tablet somewhere, but it's dead as hell so I can't check. Search is...very unhelpful.
Also, my S21+ is definitely faster than any Amazon tablet so I don't know what he's on about. DeGoogling your phone is also a breeze.
qualifier: Based upon the phones I have experience with...admittedly cheap ones.... But given my twelve+ year old fire performs better than a four year old cheap phone on a relative par price point <$75..I am guessing it is largely due to less embedded baggage. Post search Edit: yikes!! You spent $799 on a phone??!!
Installments and trade ins, and it's important that I have up to date models for work and hobby.
It's simply impossible that four year old technology can, quote, "run faster at a par price point". Each new generation of technology runs significantly faster than the last. This is like saying an RTX 3080 could feasibly run anywhere close to the RTX 4080...which is not even in the realm of possibility.
Right down to the maturation of RAM becoming cheaper, new will always be faster than old.
As far as baggage goes...that's amusing considering Amazon has just as much telemetry as Google does.
you make my point in that it is impossible that the old hardware is faster.... it then must be the load i.e., all the scroogle crap programs doing God knows what that is/are the problem.....yet the 12year old fire, with (guessing) 5-6x as many tabs open is far faster from a uservstand stand point than the four year old google android system which has never had any other applications installed an presently doesn't even have a sim card.... there was a small improvement when I added a loader and switched to brave but it still struggles with more than five tabs...
