I know, I know... but this Walmart isn't so bad. Anyway, I heard (mostly, only half paid attention) a store announcement advising people to have on hand at least a 3 day supply of food and water in case of an emergency. They then gave a website for more information... 'something'.gov. I didn't catch the website.
They then continued playing music. It was the first time Ive ever heard Walmart (or any store) advising people to have 3 days of food and water in case of emergency.
I bet I was the only one in the store that actually paid some attention.
I heard the same thing yesterday at Walmart.(South Carolina)
Hurricane preparation awareness campaign. Running on the radio also with some stations discussing what items to have on hand.
My local Walmart has played that psa too on the "walmart radio." Sound advice but it isn't b/c they care. It's just a convenient way to boost sales.
Isn’t Houston in the line of storms headed towards the gulf? Could be reason for such announcements
No. The hurricane will make landfall next to St.Petersburg, Florida, more than a thousand miles away from Houston.
It is tropical storm season, but nothing threatening Houston area. Also, they never have made announcement like that during any hurricane season in the past, or earlier this season either. This was odd.
Seems like you already have an opinion on this matter, so why don’t you tell us what you think it is instead of having us guess?
Agree. Very odd
HURRICANE SEASON YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SCARED AND PANIC
Preparing for disaster means you buy more stuff so it's good for business.
I wish these storm systems would send some of that rain into the American southwest.
If you ask HAARP nicely, maybe it'll send a Katrina your way.
Katrina needs to stay dead - I lived thru Katrina and wouldn't wish her on any place.
Yeah, I dunno about HAARP or seeding or chem trail BS but tropical storms are pretty brutal and if any of them are man made by insert-conspiracy-theorized-action-here, people involved need to be removed.
Katrina was brutal.
Hurricanes
Not everything is a sign. lol
Hurricanes - it's emergency prep for hurricanes -
September is National Preparedness Month. Right before October. 👀
September is Emergency preparedness month, I have heard the announcements in my area.
Who doesn't have 3 days of food on hand? No one shops only for food they immediately consume to depletion every day or every other day.
I live in oz, literally have family like this. Its messed up. We don't have prepare gov info here but common for those in top qld, Darwin etc, but general city folk I think its normal for them to stop in the store every night straight after work 🤦♀️🔫
We have been programed to react to any subliminal messaging like a stray Pavlov dog.
I'd wager more folks left with even more then they usually over budget for that day even if they didn't acknowledge the announcement.
I didn't hear that announcement at a local Wal-Mart, Bismarck ND. I rarely go there but we went this past week because my brother wanted to check out some hats.
I think it's because it's hurricane season down there. Didn't play at the store we went to today I'm in ND as well.
Most likely. Hopefully the White Hats send the rain northwest toward us.
We've had plenty of rain in my area from a quick search it looks like the drought is over for the state,we are still getting rain in fact, if it's a little dry there I can pray.
I usually monitor weather conditions for the state for my own knowledge. But it's been a super busy summer for me.
Probably was
ready.gov a site run by fema to raise emergency preparedness. And September is preparedness month.
