I think they got pranked and humiliated. I used to watch the unveiling for entertainment. Their faces were priceless. Hahahaha! Especially Big Mike having to try and make it look like it was flattering with his Mama in attendance. Kudos to whomever cooked that up!

I don't think that's a thumb, however, when I look at my hand in the mirror at that angle, it looks nothing geometrically like Barry's.
There was a video someone posted years ago when this painting was unveiled. This is not that same video but goes to explain the reasoning. Sorry it's a youtube video but you only need to watch from the 30 second mark to hear the folks describing allah as having 2 right hands. The video breakdown that I cant find explains that at the time these texts were written, being left handed was considered sinister so to make allah perfect they invented the fact that he has 2 right hands. This painting is a nod to allah. Again this is according to a video someone posted years ago.

No BS: There is a subtle comm in this painting someone did a video breakdown of when it was first unveiled years ago.
Look at 0bama’s hand and it appears that his left hand has a thumb tucked underneath on the wrong side.
This is because according to some islamic text allah has 2 right hands.
This painting is saying 0bama is like allah or is loyal to allah. Interpret it however you like but the artist painted 0bama here intentionally with 2 right hands/right thumbs.
Edit: changed mohammad to allah. It’s allah that has 2 right hands according to islam.
