We are all glad to hear you are able to stand up for yourself, well done!
Yet - Who's going to argue that violence in self-defense is wrong? Of course you should protect yourself and your loved ones when they're being attacked.
Another use is to intervene when strangers are being attacked in the street, for example.
There's nuances to the use of violence. The violence we don't condone is the one fueled by hatred, the one that requires someone else to act in self-defense.
One of the best things that happened to me was to learn how to take a punch right in the face and realize I was not made of glass. It was exhilarating really. I was never bullied nor did I pick on anyone but in college I had to stand up up for myself and I’m so glad I didn’t back down. I took one punch in the face and then went into the zone. I still remember the look on the guys face as I pummeled him in the ground. He went from a macho to a zero real quick.
I love your spirit! NEVER be a victim! Ironically, the confidence you gained will keep you out of more fights because predators sense your badassery- they only like to fuck with weak people
Well said!
I'm an eye for an eye guy so you'll get no pushback from me.
There is a difference between fighting and violence. Violence is unprovoked.
Good for you for leaning how to stand up for yourself both mentally and physically.
My saying is: once their hands go up, I'm going.

No flack here. Kudos for a hard lesson learned. I'm sorry you had to endure what you did. I'm glad you never will be forced to again.
