I believe the real reason people have their newborns sons circumcised is because a group of people need access to foreskin? I really don't understand why this procedure is common place.

Below are some reasons I remember reading about:
In the uncircumcised, the foreskin must be retracted and cleaned all the time. Back in the day, a lot of little and big boys wouldn't do it often enough - or properly - leading to crusty infections and smelly members.
Also, sometimes when entering puberty, the foreskin wouldn't retract fully when the person had an erection, causing pain and twisting.
And according to some, an uncircumcised penis is much more sensitive and would have a much shorter 'release' time, leaving the females unsatisfied with the quickness of the delivery.
Years ago, I knew only one fellow who was uncircumcised as a baby (everyone else was, as was their brothers and fathers before them) and hated his uncircumcised look so much that when he was in his early 20's and could afford it himself, went in and got it done. He said the ladies had reacted negatively to his intact look and that it was so sensitive that he had no endurance before release, so that was a problem, also.
He said once he had the surgery, he was much happier and had neither of those problems post-surgery.
TL;DR
Foreskin hunters do it because of they are dirty and have premature ejaculation.
Got it.
The foreskin is not retractable until puberty. The body is made whole by God. the hygiene issue is like cutting the tongue out to deal with bad breath.
I can't disagree. Just trying to answer the person's question as to why it was being done and what my husband and I read about 30+ years ago before we had children. Husband was circumcised and Catholic, insisted son be, too. Said son would wonder why he didn't look like Dad or the other boys, if not.
Son seems to be just fine and glad for it. (My experience only...)
Not an argument for or against, your comment made me think of an old Friend of mine who was uncircumsized through most of college.
He was not originally from the u.s., and he said American girls were almost always turned off by being uncut which diminished his confidence quite a bit (but when he would take trips back to Europe, girls weren't turned off by it). Ended up getting it removed, said it was way worth it but did have a noticeable decline in sensation. He said it was a double edged sword, on one edge "he could fuck like a porn star" (he said he didn't understand how guys in porn could last so long until post-cut) and was no longer a 'two pump chump' but on the other loss of sensation range took some adjustment.
He said on trips back to Europe that none of the girls minded or cared that he was circumcised like how American girls thought being uncircumcised was a turn off.
One comment that he made was that also stuck with me was that the "environmental conditions" down there were much cleaner, where as before moisture buildup, smell, buildup (he was a very active athlete) etc... not that this guy was unclean or not hygienic as he was, but still different.
The ironic thing as far as I can tell is that had he never moved to the u.s. he most likely would never have gotten circumcised since girls over saw that as the norm but being in America with it not being the norm, just eroded his confidence enough to get it done.
American girls ruin yet another man's life
