Could also be fentanyl. An envelope of that shit can make an entire room OD.
...fentanyl has the potential to be anthrax 2.0...
... easily accessible in Arizona...
...and more deadly....
No, ingestion is not necessary.
People are being sent to the emergency room for touching car handles contaminated with fentanyl.
And it has happened in multiple places.
I'll give the war on drugs a lot of shit, but it's clear that substances like this need to be out of the general public's hands because of how it can and is being used to attack each other, and it's far less traceable than a bullet, and extremely easy to apply in stealth. And the potential damage from putting it into the water supply? Possibly nuclear weapon level murder, depending on the water supply and how many rely on it.
If there's something to be scared of, it's a silent killer that can kill you from literally touching it.
Right, well, if drugs were legal there wouldn't be fentanyl. No-one would need it if they could get what they want, pure and safe etc. I think we probably agree on this part from your opening qualifier.
And if drugs aren't legal, well clearly that's done nothing to stop it. As far as terrorist/war attack with it - yep that is scary shit. And again if that happened it would be irrespective of drug war....
It cant kill you from touching it
Jesus Lord!
I don't know but that sure sounds plausible. I mean, a tiny amount can kill thousands of people so I'd put money on skin absorption.
Fentanyl is most commonly used with a patch, and one of the warnings is not to apply it in front of a child. If they were to find a patch and place over their mouth, they could die.
Also, extremely dangerous if inhaled.
My cousin who was a pharmacist warned his wife not to cut the patches in half. Too much would come out and be absorbed through her skin. ( she was given fentanyl patches for back pain). She didn’t want to get addicted. She thought taking half was better than putting all on her back. One day, he found her dead in front of her embroidery hoop in a chair when he came home. Half the pad was in the waste basket next to her. Either she did it on purpose to kill herself ot it was done in error. But she absorbed too much fentanyl in her skin from cutting the pad in half. At least that’s what my cousin told me
That is so fucked up. 😔
I watched a vid where a cop OD’d by smelling vapors from a trunk full of fentanyl . It was body cam footage from an assisting officer….fentanyl is insane
I saw the same one.
It can be inhaled, touched, transferred doing mouth to mouth during CPR if protective equipment isn’t used, that is why they said to do just chest compressions if no PPE is available.
Fentanyl is so deadly it's really scary if you think of the possibilities! I was going to mention a very scary, and easily accomplished scenario, but will not, because when I have mentioned things like that in the past, they end up happening!
Can also be aerosolized
It very easily becomes airborne. It's a fine powder. Requires ingestion but is easily dispensed into the air. Cop OD'd multiple times simply by opening a trunk that had some Fenty in it. https://youtu.be/r-NXG7RV_2g
No, it has to be handled with those nitrile gloves, not just the regular latex gloves, and masks are worn around it when in powder form. There was a cop that busted a dealer and opened up the package to see what was in it, and he passed out and had to be taken to the emergency room, happened about 2 years ago in Vermont. bet the Cartels did it, a lot easier to get than anthrax or sarin.
Right through the skin
Fentanyl is often given to patients in the form of patches that stick to the skin, and the fentanyl is absorbed directly through the skin. https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/fentanyl-transdermal-route/proper-use/drg-20068152
So, yes, you can absorb it directly by touching it.
That would do it.
