I live in North-East Houston and know MANY people who work in the refineries and chemical plants in Deer Park, Texas, Baytown, Mont Belvieu and Channelview.
Firstly, none of them expressed any sort of worry to me about some impending mega-crisis. If anything, it seems to be business as usual. Naturally people are worried about the economy, but nobody is extremely concerned enough to panic like Anonymous seems to be doing.
Secondly, he mentioned 'critical people who work the refineries around Deer Park, Crosby and Baytown, Tx.' Crosby, Texas isn't known for it's refineries. In fact, if you look up an aerial view of Crosby, Texas on Google Earth... there is NOT ONE REFINERY there, nor are there any petrochemical plants. That's NOT even a good place to build one. The guy doesn't know anything about our area, that's for sure. He's making it up.
Even in the middle of the Great Depression, kids around rural communities seemed to get by just fine. Local access to clean and plentiful food and water is not valued highly in the supply-chain heavy globalized society... until any links in that chain break. Then what was forgotten is rediscovered.

We as a group are notoriously hard to influence. However, 'Bugout' fear porn is super effective against our demographic.
It presses the right buttons on the personality traits we tend to possess.
Why I'm not concerned when I see RIDICULOUS fear porn doomer posts like this -- God wins and NCSWIC.
