Speculating here, if the Tshibaka voters all put the dem down as second choice, they could at least keep Murkowski from getting second round votes. If some Murkowski voters put Tshibaka down as second, maybe Tshibaka would win?
I don't know.
This is all purposely confusing to steal elections in my opinion. It basically sets up the uniparty to ensure their preferred candidates always win and the keep "outsiders" out. Just my thoughts.
Second votes don't matter until the first option is eliminated. The third Republican, Buzz Kelly will be eliminated first (which don't matter since he has less than 3% of the vote), next will be the Democrat, Patricia Chesbro. All of Chesbros second voter picks will be allocated.
This system basically helps moderates out by selecting the person who most people are OK with.
Second choice only counts if you first choice is eliminated, so no people who ranked second and voted for Tshibaka and Murkowski won't have their second choice counted because their first choice is still in the race, it will all be dem's second choice picks.
What if Tshibaka voters voted Murkowski second...doesn't Tshibaka get a boost for that?
Why wouldn't Murkowski voters vote Tshibaka second as well?
Wouldn't Tshibaka also get a boost?
I don't know enough about this to make a judgement
I voted for tshibaka with no second choice

Murky's people pushed this through hard (cheating and misinfo) because they knew it was her only shot at being reelected. They were right.
