Lots of people are 100% against pharmacy as if it's the the evil one. It's the crooked people in charge, not the drugs that are the problem.
Many people have deadly, severe diabetes, severe hypertension issues, hypotension disorders, things ofthe layman knows nothing.
The list is vast. Our bodies break down in myriad ways. It's a very complicated machine in which we live.
Some say, " it's all a lie. You don't need any of those." Those are people not suffering from physiological issues. They are real .
Do everything you can to research and see if diet and natural remedies exist to replace any and all pharmaceuticals. My Father who is in his mid seventies began doing this and has greatly reduced what doctors told him he needs, by addressing the root of the problem and not merely trying to suppress or alter the symptoms with pharmaceuticals. He no longer needs any blood pressure medication which always messed him up with sleep and energy problems, he is doing much better. Diet and exercise is what helped him the most.
Too risky. His cardiologist said to NEVER remove the Coreg regardless of what any other doc said. He was very close to death when he was diagnosed. I did research and his life expectancy was 5 years max and he is still here after 15. But the medical world changes a lot so I will do the research again. Thanks for the idea! I haven't heard anything about medicine shortages, have you, or anybody?
Dilated Cardiomyopathy due to Vitamin D Deficiency
Dilated cardiomyopathy, which mostly has an idiopathic etiology or is caused by genetic inheritance or infection, may cause irreversible congestive heart failure. Hypocalcemia is a rare etiology of reversible dilated cardiomyopathy. Cardiogenic shock related to hypocalcemic cardiomyopathy is a rare event. Here we report two cases with congestive heart failure who was diagnosed as having dilated cardiomyopathy secondary to hypocalcemia. After calcium and vitamin D replacement therapy, the patients showed improvement in left ventricular function. Hypocalcemia should be included in the differential diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy.
He sure tries, always thought he was lactose intolerant but ate ice cream by the buckets. Will drink 2% sometimes but not very often. He has always worked outside so I didn't think D was an issue. The docs didn't know and they never asked me but he had a couple of bad teeth issues when he went into the mountains. I think it got into his heart. Thanks so much for the links, I will definitely use them.
Glad to hear about the extra years. I haven’t heard about any medicine shortages no. Mainly the supply chain is what seems to be the most vulnerable. Hope the research leads to a solution for you.
Those are not all long term storage, but rather someone's idea of a stocked pantry. Some good suggestions, some meh (like the cereal and crackers). If you want them, just be sure to rotate them and restock as needed.
The crackers, cereal, pancake mix, nuts & trail mix will all go bad unless eaten within a couple months. And FLOUR as well. I've filled some 30 gallon cans with rancid food. Any oil in the product goes bad pretty quick. I now keep it in the basement where it's pretty cool. Spread some diatomaceous earth on the floor and hang some pantry moth traps.
One thing I never see mentioned are eye care products.
Extra contact lenses...I get a year at a time.
Extra glasses.
Extra cleaning /soaking solutions.
we buy a 2 pack of Equate brand ReNu as often as possible. Equate ReNu used to be made by Bauch and Lomb
I order my eyeglasses from Zenni optical. it's a lot less than going through the eye doctor. It's an affordable way to have extra pairs on hand
Thanks for the reminder. Just ordered a 2yr supply of my brand!
I'd like to know what to do about prescription drugs. any ideas?
That's a tough one.

What does Coreg do? What is his diagnosis?
idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy
I just like to read into these things when they come up. You may be interested in this:
Does he drink milk?

Those dry goods (biscuits) need to go into MYLAR BAGS. That will extend their life for years.
Yes, the mylar bags, oxygen absorbers (not with everything.. not salt and sugar, for example) and proper storage will extend the life.
Thanks!!
I typed those in as I watched the video. Then I discovered the first comment on YT was the list. Doh!
Pasta, rice, beans (dried), water, canned veggies, all keep a long time and you can make a lot of different meals with the meat you will hunt.

Been hearing this for years now
Yep. Most of us all have. But if SHTF, 1 minute after it happens will be too late. Best to be wise and “plan for the worst but hope for the best”.
Rice and oats are great for carbs and fiber. Goes far.
Skip 2 minutes to save 2 minutes.
I'm not a mormon, but anyone can buy from the mormon food stores. The prices are pretty good and the self life is often decades.
Search on google for "LDS Home Storage Center" or visit providentliving.lds.org
The locations typically have limited hours (like Tuesdays/Thursdays).
But, you walk in, they'll explain things, you fill out an order sheet, pay, and they help load it into your car.
The Amish have large bulk stores. https://amishcountrystoreonline.com/bulk-foods/ But there are many like this https://youtu.be/nEg8rgn4-NU posting on YouTube.
We’ve been prepping for years, or food goes bad before we can use it all. Even with FIFO.
