The date on a bill is not the printing date. It's the design date. It's supposed to change when officials change and the signatures have to be replaced. Bills are not like coins. That should have been taught in school. I learned it on my own 50 years ago.
Its not a print year its a design year.
All bills printed since 2017 will have the date of 2017. It was the last approved series.
In the history of US Currency, there have been more years with no new series than years with new series. Someone swallowed the hook.
