If the Elonphone can connect to starlink sattelites remotely and act as a sat phone giving you cell service anywhere on Earth free from telecom companies then it would be awesome. But that's a huge load added onto starlink and it would take more complex components then your avg phone that just connect to cell towers.

If anyone is gonna do it tho, it would be Elon.

We're on their screens, and they don't believe us. Has to be the right people telling it to them. i.e. "the experts".

I can go on Twitter right now and post a comment. I can link them to someone on OANN giving out real news in the same format as any MSM outlet.

They won't care. It has to be the right people, telling them what they want to hear, or they won't listen and will write off anything they've been programmed to disbelieve.

It requires no extra components in the phones. The satellites need a new 6m antenna array to make the connection using T-Mobile 2.5GHz mid-band spectrum. The antennas may also be able to receive 2.4GHz Wifi and Bluetooth signals.

I'm not a rocket scientist but I do know you can operate a sat phone on less than 1 watt. Or as I should have said , ping a message off a satilight and back for around a watt.

If Elon actually goes forward with his own phone service, as soon as he does Apple and Android will stop boycotting. The can read the tea leaves I am sure. Hit 'em right where it hurts, in the profits!

As much as I want to believe that, I doubt it. Amazon, BlackBerry, and Microsoft all went up against Apple in the smartphone arena and got smoked. It’s not as easy as it sounds. Blackberry had a massive, 10yr head start, not to mention a huge corporate user base, and Apple still managed to nearly make them extinct within 5yrs because the product was just that much better. The only reason Android even competes is because the majority of the phones are so cheap.

Breaking people away from the Apple ecosystem would be really, really hard. He would have to not only build a better and smoother OS, but a phone that isn’t put together like shit (like a Tesla), and all of the supporting hardware that people have gotten used to using in the Apple ecosystem, with a cloud to sync it all. Most people aren’t going to switch phones when it doesn’t work with their laptop, Watch, earbuds, streaming device, tablet, etc

Much like the plan here was obviously taking over Twitter rather than standing up a serious market share competitor by 2024, there has to be another plan for Apple’s App Store monopoly. Competing with them straight up is a losing battle. Same with how CNN has new leadership and is being gutted from the inside out. That’s not a coincidence.

Except that Blackberry failed because they ignored the iphone for years. It took them three years to release the horrible Storm handset (their "iphone killer"). The Storm 2 was duct tape and hope and while it had better hardware, the UI mess was still there. Apple then released the 4 with Enterpisey features and RIM died.

Microsoft failed because they had one good generation of hardware and then they nose-dived the hardware division they bought straight into the ground. Their "best" phone was two generations behind the latest SOCs on release. And they never got real feature updates.

Android was successful because they threw the garden gates open wide. Cheap phone? Whatever. Ultra bling bling phone? Whatever. Just buy these java runtimes that will install on all 68 phones you have to buy this year because they are $5 burners from walmart.

The only reason Android even competes is because the majority of the phones are so cheap.

False. Samsung flagships are priced appropriately against iPhone and they are dominating the market.

There are many aspects to why Android does better, from better performance options, to freedom within the operating system, to interface being more user friendly overall, to variable component options that iPhone simply doesn't do, which gives a much better experience and more competition within the space. But price is far from the only factor.

The fact that you can't even easily install apps that are removed from the Apple store is inherently a buying point for a lot of people, as Apple tends to delist a lot of things if they feel like it.

Now that said, Elon wouldn't be competing with just Apple. Elon would be competing against two monoliths in the space.

Others tried, others failed as you said. That said, in regards to Microsoft, they haven't exactly demonstrated having good designers, developers or even project managers as they struggle to get things through the door to begin with.

In regards to Amazon: They always half ass everything they do. Games, movies, shows (Upload was funny though) to hardware. The Kindle is just about the only good thing they've done outside of shipping.

I saw the ad for his PI phone. While it has a lot of shiny items like solar panels and the ability to mine crypto, what revolutionary item that makes it a game changer to finally end cancel culture? Will it have a completely new OS outside of Apple's and Google's OS? Will it have an unhackable chip manufactured in the USA?

I'm sorry, but why does Elon Musk HAVE to put into his smartphone all of these gaudy features when the best phone for freedom and canceling cancel culture is a cheap, reliable, and rock-solid smartphone utilizing either Graphene OS or his OS that is an improved-upon fork of the Android FOSS coding?

Clever marketing tactic. Develop phone, not sure how it will sell, create controversy, provoke other phone creators and tech companies, make it seem like he's one of us, release phone just before Xmas...

Profit Bigly.

I'm surprised you're not questioning the readiness and convenient timing of all this.

Bear in mind this is the man that wants to microchip everyone. Uses the Climate Hoax to sell cars that are more dangerous than combustion engines and require Chinese lithium to create them. He's funded by $oro$ who has the controlling interest in Tesla as he saved Elon from bankruptcy.

I could go on and on...

I don't trust Elon, and I never will.

Time will tell. I appreciate you actually replying instead of just downvoting and not adding anything constructive to the conversation.

People can change this is true, that's not what I see at this current juncture. Then again I have always been a skeptic, which is what lead me to looking into the MSM's attacks on Trump when I wasn't even in America at the time. I was outside the bubble and could clearly see the lies, then my media repeated it verbatim.

What I see here from a skeptics perspective, is Elon using Our community to grift. Anyone can read the Q posts and start faking Deltas and connections. The time of year, the fact the phone, announced in March, was scheduled for 2022-2025 release, the trolling nature of Elon and the obvious expected reactions and actions of Apple, Google etc. It's too convenient for me. People, in my opinion, are not looking at this from a 40,000 foot view. They are looking at the immediate, not the long term.

Look at it from this perspective for a moment: Here we have a man who managed to become the alleged "richest man on Earth" during the most massive transfer of wealth perpetuated by the Scamdemic. He is working on a microchip implant for the brain, which he hopes to connect to his phones. He creates cars that limit travel, that will be connected to the phone. He has a 24/7 Satellite system that he intends to connect to his phone service... That's more invasive than Google and every other telecommunications company tracking us like in the documentary 2000 mules.

Just my thoughts on the matter, downvote away, all I'm thinking every time I see a downvote with no reply is: Another shill, possibly working for Elon's marketing team. (another good Marketing Tactic)

*Richest man (publicly known) on earth via unrealized gains in stock. Takes it all and his celebrity fandom and lights it all on fire with online shitposting against his main celebrity worshiping audience. Buys the largest online social network and continues to rail against the sheep. Teslas value and his net worth plunge because of this. Apple is threatening to remove Twitter from the App Store.

So, he did all of this to grift smartphones to conservatives? Really? This is your hypothesis? Is this one of those “he’s so dumb!” Jabs?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Orwellian_Scholar 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

Not just conservatives, the majority of people. I never called Elon dumb or others, far from it. Don't know where you're getting that from.

I'm thinking of long term consequences, not the here and the now. The Regime are trying to force everyone to Electric Cars, Musk profits, the Regime are in bed with China, China just happens to own all the Lithium and other rare earth materials needed to make a Tesla. More money to the Enemy further funding our demise.

App store removal: Apple and Google did the same to Gab and Parlor, this isn't a new tactic, and was anticipated.

We are 27 days away from Xmas, far enough away for the masses to jump on the bandwagon and everyone buy a Tesla phone for their partners, kids, whatever.

As for the whole celebrity thing, we've seen that stage show played before, been stabbed in the back by it, seen PAYtriots come and go. Our own mini Celebrities cashing in on the movement or riding Trumps coattails. A recent example would be MTG backing RINO McCarthy.

Information Warfare 5GW

Elon has always Trolled everyone, regardless of politics.

I'm not saying he's just targeting us, I'm saying he's scooping up as broad a net of customers as possible, after all we're all potential customers and using politics to gain sales is, again, nothing new. Plus we all know we are the Majority, so chances are you wanna switch party affiliation before you're selling to a smaller base. He's a Businessman, not an idiot.

His past actions and current work-in-progress projects make me very wary of trusting Elon as I've already iterated in the previous posts, which again I've only scratched the surface of that rabbit hole.

History has shown that controversy sells, hence the age old adage of 'there's no such thing as bad publicity.'

THERE IS NO ELON PHONE for 2022. NONE!

You think he’s just going to surprise you tomorrow with a phone launch when nobody has specs for it. The FCC has never tested/approved it which can take months. Is one in development? Most likely.

Lithium. Most of it is in South America and while China does have reserves, MOST OF THE WORLDS LITHIUM IS IN SOUTH AMERICA. Now, you want to know, what China does have? Tin. Crucial for making batteries and Elon did put out notice a few years ago that the shortage for batteries won’t be lithium it will be tin.

Celebrities. If people here didn’t learn after Sean Hannity and his “tick-tock” bull shit they never will learn. Best to not trust any talking head including Elon or Trump Jr.

I’m not here to defend Elon. Who knows what the guys deal is besides providing some entertainment to a media scene so lacking. I’m here talking because I think your vomiting nonsense ideas and show a complete lack of logical reasoning and I’m really tired of seeing it around here.

He already developed the phone and showed off his prototype in early March. Though you do have a point on the resources needed to create them. However China OWNS the Lithium Fields in South America.

https://qz.com/1292202/china-now-effectively-controls-half-the-worlds-lithium-production

https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/renewable/china-dominates-the-global-lithium-battery-market/

Also:

"There is no official information on the release date. And since this is Tesla’s first-ever smartphone, we cannot make any speculations based on past releases. However, as per various news outlets (Mashbable India), the Tesla Pi Phone will likely launch in December 2022. If not in December 2022, we can expect the launch in January 2023."

Source: https://www.dealntech.com/tesla-pi-phone/

So his tweet and I quote: "I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone." - November 26th

This tweet is misleading. He was already working on the Pi phone and revealed it in March. As you can see this article speculates a December Release, odd coincidence no?

See. Stop this. There are plenty of GOOD tech journalism sites that you don’t need to go sourcing shit like this. In general just avoid the India tech bloggers as they all love speculating and they will show you a iPhone 20 prototype if you ask.

The pi phone has never been ”shown” in public, not even a prototype. No manufacturing details, phone specs or partners have been released or leaked. Maybe they are going to do the entire thing in house but there would at least be knowledge of some of it. Even Dojo manufacturing processes gets leaked. The most people know is that it’s being designed.

This would be super fantastic if Mr, musk made a satilight phone, so when they shut off out internet and phone service we can still communicate. This would also be his best investment yet , Tesla's are not green and everyone sees that. And twitter has a lot of competition coming thier way. Not to mention bozo evil working against it. Not only would I make this a priority purchase, (right there with weapons) but I would buy stock in that, even now as the market tanks.
