Pretty sure Elon hides on this board at this point.

I’ve been around for decades and never heard ‘kek’ until I found GAW.
The_Donald was awesome so of course they had to kill it. :/
Understood. I am in awe of the users who have been around long enough to understand subreddits and chans and the language associated with them. I have never been a computer geek...just a minimum computer user but have gotten much better over the years.
And according to one of my sons, a cousin culture in World of Warcraft
kek
more to it, came from asian autists
Chans
& Voat
It came from World of Warcraft originally.
Yep
Im going from memory but i believe KEK actually started in world of war craft.
If you were part of the alliance (humans) and went to the horde part of the world (orc like creatures) then when you typed "lol" in chat it would show say "kek" on the chat they could see.
"kek" originates from a game called League of Legends (Lol). Since "Lol" references the game name, players started using a game characters laugh, which is "kek".
So... this has nothing to do with frogs or GAW.
Nope it came from WoW
WoW was before LoL
Actually 1967 makes me a Gen-Xer, I think. Got my first Apple computer in 1986. I could word process and play Where in the world is Carmen San Diego. Got my first pc in 1996. Came with a tower and dial up capabilities. Had an AOL account and e-mail...woohoo! But I missed out on basic Fortran classes in high school so the whole computer language is mostly lost on me. Of course I can use programs now...hard not to in today's age but I know very little about what goes on behind the scenes of computer programming. My millennial offspring have also taught me a lot.
Also a 67Xer...I did take "Computer Math" in HS. First job out of college, I had a lot of responsibility for user support. I could not program, but the little bit of knowledge I got allowed me to be able to look and get the gist of things based upon what the software was supposed to do.
I also remember Macs in college going for about $2500 in the bookstore. I think there was one guy in my dorm that had one. That was a lot of money- per inflation calculator, about $6770 today. More than tuition and room and board for a year. Hell, I had a used Pontiac LeMans that was about seven years old that was only $800.
