$600 for the equip (called “rv” system regardless if you actually use it on rv or not) . Pay $110 for only the first month then set billing on suspend. It is an on demand solution so you only pay for the month(s) you enable it. Leave it suspended indefinitely and not pay a dime until shtf
I've been waiting for Starlink since February 2021 when I was invited to participate in the "beta" testing, but due to my location it wasn't a good fit for them.
Latest update says mid-2023 for me now.
In the mean time, plan B is a fiber optic installation that has been going on in my county for many months. Alleged premises wiring is tentatively set for January 20.
I'll still get Starlink for a back up, but I expect the fiber will be the better of the two.
I understand. In my world the redundancy is necessary and in the big picture not all that expensive.
Presently my plan B is hot spotting through my cell phone, which does sort of work most of the time, but isn't as fast or reliable as required; can't talk on the phone and use the browser simultaneously. I'm more than five miles from the nearest cell tower (out in the country) so service is one to two bars at best.
I’m in the same boat. When I do a speed test it starts with a decimal. Best I get is .19mbs download. I’ve started looking into Starlink. It is a bit of a pricy initial investment.
starlink is only useful in areas with limited internet access. There is no point in installing it in areas with proper hardwired fiber or cable internet. I personally have gigabit fiber internet. Hopefully it doesn't go down.
So I'm hoping for an internet shutdown because that means progress. Is that wrong?
Nope. I expect it.
Those faggots love the word "cyber". It makes them feel important. "Cyber Polygon". What a bunch of satanic pussies. Kek.
The average user doesn't have access to Starlink without the antenna.
If starlink wasn't so expensive i'd have it now.
BGP or DNS will be the vector for shutdown, calling it now.
Either are easily recoverable. So no.
DNS for sure.

Jesus, a backup internet package?
The name's Fester. It means to rot.
There's a method to my madness, and madness to my method.
I'd mind if I was unnecessarily paying for not 1 but 2 internet packages.

The only diff is that since you can suspend and unsuspend billing on the “rv” system (by name only), it gets deprioritized if network is saturated.
Thanks for the warning.
Don't forget... Obama "gave away" the Internet.
Starlink is DARPA attempting to fix this shit... Worldwide.
I'm so happy I have Starlink!!!!!
The new Galaxy series will have satellite connectivity fyi
So as long as work is cancelled.
Always my 1st thought when I see anything about the net outage lol!
But they tell us they will shut down electricity too by doing so, not? If we can't run anything to use internet, how will starlink change anything?
