Texas 7-Eleven store plays classical music to deter homeless population
The owner of a convenience store in Austin, Texas says the goal is to deter homeless individuals from being there and harassing customers. Some customers say they're all for the music, while others are annoyed by it.
That's one way to Handel the homeless situation.
But they'll be Bach.
Come on man, don't be Haydn.
See yourself out.
done :)
Quote from one person “"I believe, just talk to them, and ask them not to hang around, or not to live around, whatever, I think that's the best solution," Yea that always works…
As a store owner in a downtown area. Kind of hard to talk to a mentally ill person. 9/10 homeless that come in are crazy and can’t function as normal adults.
So that person would consider classical music some kind of cruel and unusual punishment?
to some it is. at the very least, you'll get more refined hobos hanging around.
Where's that Winnie the Pooh in a monocle meme...
Clearly someone has never been on the receiving end of an argument with a homeless guy.
They play opera really loud at one of the locations near me. I was installing some window lettering for a customer across the street last year and couldn't figure out where the music was coming from, until I asked someone who had just come from 7-11. He said yeah, they play that to keep the homeless away. I just thought it was nice to hear some opera in our area, which is normally a sea of rap and country music.
I don't think so! Right now it is good that everybody sees it, politicians have failed! They got richer, but not their districts (Pelosi much!).
And everybody can come into this situation thanks to our politicians - no doubt about that!
Job loss due to mandates, housing market, drug crisis due to open border, poor by divorce, ...
I would leave the city as soon as possible.
United Dairy Farmers (UDF) been doing for years.
I would just approach them, tell them to get off my property if they won't stop harassing my customers. Give them trespassing charges if the same people return. Plus have plenty of cameras to get them for littering fines.
I think if many homeless people were inclined to or capable of responding rationally to rational arguments, threats of legal consequences or offers of good-faith agreements they would not be homeless.
ever tried fining a homeless person? fewer shits have never been given
Oh well, rack up the cash.
More realistically though, probably just get a police officer to remove them from my property if they refuse.
yeah but that can take hours just to remove one person, even with multiple cops. not good for business to just drag them away kicking and screaming. better for everyone to go peacefully, so usually they're given some time.
Maybe that's just me but I like to do things like Dirty Harry would. I take no bullshit from trashy people.
yeah yeah. real easy to type that. but the homeless people also feel that way, and have generally seen more shit than the shopkeeper. all they need to do is threaten to cough on you and youll leave them alone. no one wants to fight dirty hobos who might have blades or needles hidden anywhere, that's just basic survival. yall might hate each other, but only one party has nothing to lose.
A taser to the nuts usually helps.
