Hah!
Time seems to stand still every time we have an alert here.
Surprising to see that it says "Homeland Security". Never seen that before.
No space between the period after 'system' and 'homeland'. Seems sus to me.
Yeah, but the grammar police officer in me notices little problems like this almost everywhere.
Could it be comms for some kind of website?
Winning incoming
There's a YUGE difference between some state's wannabe agency and the US DHS. My guess: This one is the Minnesota Homeland Security. You'll notice their acronym is HSEM, Homeland Security Emergency Management? Just like in your message.
I actually went to their really nice building and investigated them a few years back. They were overwhelmed then, I think they're overwhelmed now. I could see them blasting out a scare message like that.
All I ever get is Amber Alerts.
These day I do look every time I hear the alarm on my phone though.
Funny, in early CV, the DVR would show EMS all the time. I just realized with this thread, it has been quite some time since that has happened.
What part of the country/state was this in?
Aha, thx for the hint.
Reason I asked is because I travel. A lot. Ergo, it raises the question of why "in your area" is so important and not others. I could see it if it were a state-run Alert system but it says its Federal (Homeland Sec).
FF coming?
In hindsight, I wonder if they were expecting a power blackout in congress today, as well as several major online outages?
I'm loooking for hopium. Any chance you have a photo of the message on your phone screen (minus any personal info) so we can find out some additional details such as the date, time and state? It might help other people to corroborate the fact that they have received a similar message.
