Missouri: Capital Gains Tax eliminated for buying gold and silver.
A Missouri bill that has passed the Senate says that the government cannot force a CBDC on its people. Also brings back gold and silver as legal tender.
(March-09-2022) Executive Order 14067—Ensuring Responsible Development of Digital Assets
Establishes the legal basis to implement a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) on the American public and gives a deadline by December 2023 to have it circulating in the public.
"As of 2013, Texas does not charge sales tax on precious metals purchases of any amount."
The United States Constitution which states in Article I, Section 10, "No state shall...make anything Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts."
Texas has not yet reaffirmed its constitutional duty to treat gold and silver as tender for payment of debt as Oklahoma and Utah did with the recent passage of SB 862 and HB 157, respectively.
In June of 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 483 into law. House Bill 483 "allows for the nation's first state bullion depository to be established in Texas under the supervision of the state's comptroller's office." Abbott says: "with the passage of this bill, the Texas Bullion Depository will become the first state-level facility of its kind in the nation, increasing the security and stability of our gold reserves and keeping taxpayer funds from leaving Texas to pay for fees to store gold in facilities outside our state."
Unfortunately, like every other state in the union, Texas does not hold any of its reserves in gold and silver.
The Texas Teacher Retirement Fund and the University of Texas own nearly $1 billion in physical gold.
Not so sure I want my gold in a repository like Tenn Bill proposes. I have some placer gold though, and considering buying more. Gold Bars and coins have a large markup and the retailers charge extra depending on how you pay. Not going to name where I buy my placer, but there's no additional charge depending on how you pay. Right now is at 1826 per Troy Oz, Gold Spot per Jm Bullion @ 1835. Note placer gold is 20K-23K.
JM Bullion their choice 1 Oz gold bar varied condition @ 1885 ACH, Check, Wire or 1963 PayPal or CC. Thats a huge markup and CC charge.
JM Bullion 1 oz Gold coing, any mint( World wide), any condition (May be blemished), any year 1906 for wire / check. ach (They recommend no paper check) 1985 PayPal or CC
Smaller than 1 oz gold bars and coins have too high of a markup for me to even bother looking up
Note: Gold nuggets are also widely available but tend to cost more than spot.
Did you know that Utah has a gold legal tender called Utah Goldbacks? They're bills with gold woven into them. It's real gold as real legal tender in the state of Utah. Pretty cool.
It’d be somewhat entertaining trying to watch retail staff try and puzzle out the value of varying amounts of Gold and Silver.

In CA you are taxed on any purchase of precious metals totaling less than $1500. So as long as you buy $1500 worth or more it’s tax free.
Where tf is Texas?
That's what I wanna know too. Time to send an email.
I agree. Here's what Texas does have: https://www.soundmoneydefense.org/gold-silver-laws-texas

Yeah that was what I was wondering
A bill was introduced in Texas in 2017 to introduce gold and silver as legal tender but haven't found anything since then

Interesting
