Ahhh now we’re getting somewhere. Lobbyists and politicians decide railroad regulations. The easy answer is you want to transport hazmat far away from population centers(cities) in the case of a derailment, unfortunately sparsely populated usually means rural, and farmland.
I understand that point, but how is spilling hazmat from a train parked directly in front a culvert into a major river and and a water table that supports most of the midwest any better of an answer than spilling into a populated area.
I think cities would actually be a MUCH better place to accidentally spill as they have the infrastructure near by to handle it much better
Most severe hazmat derailments involve massive fires, which is undesirable in a location packed with buildings and people. That’s how I view that anyways. One particularly bad one was in Quebec somewhere in 2013, and something like 70 people burned to death, and this was in a very small town. Hard to find an “ideal” place for any derailment honestly.
If you are attempting to convince me that contaminating the immediate water supply of one of the main inland fresh water rivers in the US as well as contaminating the water table for the entirety of the midwest is less bad than 70 people burning to death, I think we can just agree to disagree
Not attempting anything. That water table has regularly been contaminated long before this incident is very much worth considering however. Thanks for the solid responses fren, agree to disagree should really be a more common agreement.
Ok, obviously "they did this on purpose" theory is popular here. But is that what really happened?
And I'm sure the "There are no coincidences" drop will be mentioned, but this is one of the most confusing things I think Q has ever said, personally.
Sometimes bad things just happen. Sometimes even coincidences happen.
I get that the world is really scary sometimes and people are just trying to make sense and bring order into chaos, but for the life of me, I just can't believe every single thing that has ever happened has been done so deliberately.
one - like many things, we'll likely never know the ground truth. We could find a memo saying "park it there and open the valves to salt the earth" or we could find a memo saying "the destination changed, hold for new instructions"
Both could just as easily be disinformation now. It only matters what you choose to believe.
two - remember what they said about DJT.
liberals take him literally, but not seriously. conservatives take him seriously, but not literally.
You should consider applying that to everything in your life.
You seem fixated on the literal, which may be a mistake
there are no coincidences
You should be considering whether this is one big coincidence or if there is foul play.
Previously, weak-minded liberals would claim occam's razor for everything. Every bad scenario was just one big set of random occurrences that no one could have predicted.
Maybe, just maybe, some of them are not only predictable, but planned.
But just like liberals mistake with DJT, maybe don't take the literal definition of no coincidences so literally, rather take seriously the notion that things may not be coincidences.
The question is pretty obvious, so yes it should. If you want to get conspiratorial and look for tough answers, you may wonder why trump himself did away with brake regulations for hazmat trains, and I have no answer for you there. (Haven’t even wanted to bring this up yet here tbh)
Yeah, you can't really say anything too critical here. Even if it's a fact.
This whole thing is weird to me.
I 100% believe if the MSM had jumped all over the OH train wreck when it happened and went in hard about how it was going to destroy the environment and how DJT was (at least partially) responsible because of the deregulation and such, the narrative here would be that the wreck wasn't that bad, and environmentalists were BSing about the environmental effects and this was just a ff to make Trump look bad.
But because MSM was quiet about it for so long, well, then obviously this train wreck is the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of rail transport, and now there aren't enough regulations surrounding transporting hazardous materials and won't someone think of the poor fish in the OH River (nevermind that tree huggers have been raising hell about big energy (coal mines especially) dumping toxic waste in the OH River for decades).
But no, let's not go there. 🙄
Because, obvious reasons.

two things to address
