Maher says that Trumpers are in a cult and then goes on to say that he cannot tell if DeSantis is 'playing some kind of part' or if he's actually an "old school Republican" like Jeb Bush. Interesting that he also can't seem to tell if DeSantis is playing s...
Remember this next time conservative media tries to pass off Maher as "the cool centrist liberal."
Well, coming from a man who’s in the red shoe club…

Yes. Satanist cult.
We're in the process of proving that wrong with the cult of woke, Bill. In big part thanks to Christianity, & MAGA!
Ummm... No. Just... No. From a historic perspective, one of the many, many, many other particularly unique things about Christianity is that salvation there isn't achieved through works by but by faith, which means it isn't a human religion as far as human religions go because human religions all preach works based salvation because humans would never have been smart enough to come up with a religion where the deity saves you so simply and willfully because then how else can the humans who made the religion use it as a tool to rule and be exalted?
That's a really cool point, thanks for posting. "so no man should boast" gets even more meaning in the light of your words.
I am a Christian.
I think it does need to change though. I think folks like my grandmother is what turned people off.
She is the “You will burn in hell type who is an authoritarian who uses scriptures to say she is right”
I think young people will be turned off by scripture authoritarianism.
So all the prophecies that Jesus fulfills that are in the Old Testament are not a part of it? The texts that Jesus himself read and quoted before others isnt a part of Christianity? Christianity is completed Judaism and both the old and new testament are critical to the story of God.
Amen well said. Yes this person is most definitely not correct. I will say the new is a better place for most to start. However this doesn't take away from the old in any way.
Well in that same New Testament Jesus proclaims that he “did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.” (Matt 5:17-18) What is that law that he speaks of? It is the Jewish law found in the scriptures contained in the Old Testament. So you've got Jesus himself, the whole focus of the New Testament, saying that his purpose is to fulfill the law of the Old Testament and thats not a part of Christianity? I’m not trying to dunk on you at all but i am urging you to do a little more reading, research and thinking on these things before saying things that arent supported by even Jesus’ own words.
Yes this person is just saying silly stuff.
The bible is a complete book. You must understand both. To simply say only new is not a correct approach and leads people astray
We follow Jesus and he is found all throughout the Bible. In fact the old helps support the new. It's all the same God and we shouldn't be leading people to just forget the old. That's just silly. If ur doing that I encourage you to ask Jesus to show u ALL that your missing because your not seeking the full picture if u pick and choose what to read. Gods word is complete. Both old and new
This is just silly. Jesus is both. Jesus is in the old and the new. They have unique purpose
