I'm going to posit here that the relevance of anything SWIFT does or doesn't do is fading in impact with each passing month that financial heavyweights like russia, india and china are trading outside it with competing alternatives. For which there was no compelling case until ukraine and the hamfisted boycott, seizure and blockade attempts.

Exactly. How is a cross-border payment messaging system nefarious? It would only be relevant if globalization was still a thing... but all of that is getting dismantled.
The expanding BRIC+ punches a giant hole in all of this... so why should anyone care about a less and less relevant payment messaging system?
