Legends have it in ancient Japan…
…on auspicious nights every month a hundred supernatural spirits of folklore come out at night to parade through the streets …
…this is the Hyakki Yagyou, led by the powerful Nurarihyon…
Tonight is one of those nights…
…and we are those hundred spirits that will be on parade to haunt the enemies of freedom...
....where we go one...WE GO ALL!
Welcome once again to Saturday Night Hyaaki Yagyou hosted by your one and only man of culture, u/Nurarihyon_no_MAGA
This is a weekly thread dedicated to sharing some forgotten folklore of the Americas and comparing it to other folklore around the world.
u/Narg made the perfect summary for why I am making these weekly threads:
The problem with society, here and in most places in the world, isn't just corruption or tyranny or Satanism or whatnot, but an unbalanced focus -- too much rational, logical, mechanical, nuance-blind, empathy-poor, context-poor left brain attention versus the more organic, spiritual, three-dimensional, connected, context-rich right-brain attention. In life, we need both forms of attention, but balance is needed and the left hemisphere's form of attention must never become dominant in a culture (or one's life). Getting familiar with other cultures can help with that.

Here's one to ponder:
WHERE is HEAVEN? It's always seemed odd to me that Luke 17:21 doesn't seem to be the answer for that to most people. It's a direct quotation from Jesus, after all.
and while we're at it, these:
I am finding it hard to understand those words, because children are brought up by different people. Parents of different beliefs, Churches of different beliefs. Trauma influences, etc…
Myself, I can attest to having had a spiritual awakening as a child. Was it from my personal encounter, or was it from church and social conditioning?
Exactly! Life is not fair, and not only because some of us have terrible parents: people can be traumatized by things outside a parent's control, for instance (war, death of a family member, etc). Trauma is simply more pain than can be fully felt and integrated at the time. Trauma, if left repressed, is emotional damage.
Some people can open back up to their feelings, at least partially and sometimes more than that -- they can get in touch with their healthy nature. That is part of what a spiritual awakening means to me -- becoming more the person you were meant to be. And I believe it's one thing Jesus' teachings were meant to encourage.
I see Jesus' ministry as, in large part, an attempt -- an AMAZING and courageous attempt -- to bring more emotional health into the world (more love), by helping people focus on that and by reminding adults that LOVE is important, and in particular that how CHILDREN are treated is important.
The ACE Study -- a very large study about childhood trauma (over 17,000 participants) and the results of that trauma -- is one of the best descriptions I've seen of the importance of childhood events. Some snippets from the article in that link:
I'll say this: Jesus' teachings on how to treat children are rarely given anywhere near enough attention.
I absolutely agree with your stated studies and analysis. Although I have not verified the studies, I will trust you in your research.
I must go to bed as I have been warned that my thoughts here are “conditional”.
🤷♀️😘❤️
I guess it is an Island thing?
I really feel some emotional convection with this. I need some time to really study and process. Thank you so much for providing provocation.
My biggest sorrow in my childhood was that I didn’t feel the presence of my parents in a loving way. But that could have been my “sassy” side they didn’t know how to deal with. And now my biggest sorrow as a parent is that I didn’t know how to feel the presence of my own children.
I believe your statement that “children are rarely given anywhere near enough attention” is a true, and unfortunately a sad statement.
Big hugs to you for your truth tonight! ❤️
