I have always felt the entire progressivism is based on a spectrum of borderline personality disorder (BPD). I dont particularly live the DSM or the labels they use, but the core characteristics of BPD is a deep inability to love themselves unconditionally, and hence they have to warp their reality to make victimise themselves to feel like they are special.

Warping reality is the key. Delusional thinking. Once your very identity is based on delusions, whenever you face an inconsistency between reality and your delusion, have add more delusions or you have to accept you were wrong.

Accepting they were wrong is impossible because it goes back to them being unable to love themselves unconditionally and hence it is the same as death to them.

So they have only one way forward - doubling down. This is why progressivism, even if it starts as a single spec, needs to keep snowballing bigger and bigger just to survive. Yes, that is clear as the sun rises every day! Most of the people who take their children to the queer story hours, gay parades, etc. are women/mothers.
