Why exactly would that close the park? If I recall that animatronic in particular has caught fire before periodically over the years and not caused any dramatic issues as far as the rest of the park is concerned.
Props to the Wagies though. From other footage I’ve seen. The Mickey Mouse guy stayed in character. And there was one employee grabbed a Hose and tried to extinguish the fire. Not that a glorified Garden Hose would do much. But that’s a surprising amount of initiative and dare I say a little bravery from someone not under any obligation or paid enough to fight fires.

Fire Hazards are dangerous...
I would guess they probably needed to clean up any spilled fuel before it starts another fire.
