My wife is an awake Teachers Assistant here in New England. Surprisingly, other TA's are starting to ask political / world events questions and privately disagree with the CRT curriculum. Some are even promoting 2A and prepping with a food surplus without my wife provoking the conversation.
Thanks for doing what you can.
We've come to the conclusion that the middle and upper levels of the unions are in a tight partnership with school administrators. They try to keep up the appearance that the union is protecting the workers, but clearly the orders (hush incentives) come down from the State Department of Education.
I love how in modern clown world "awake" has become the opposite of "woke" :p
Awake is a state of being. Everyone knows what it mean or implies. it is a noun used grammatically correct.
"Woke" is a verb in that arrogant new language that uses verbs for nouns. It has ambiguous meaning since it is grammatically incorrect
Close
Awake and woke (in modern usage) = both adjectives
Awake = aware of left-wing propaganda programming
Woke = unaware; brainwashed by left-wing propaganda
Woke can be a verb: She woke me (up) for wild sex.
Awake can't be a verb without adding -n: She likes to awaken me for wild sex.
The only way I see these as nouns is in adjectival "uncountable noun" constructions like "The woke can't get enough gay, racist left-wing propaganda; the awake are immune to it." Wheeee! Ain't grammar fun
Have a Great, Awakened day, anon!
A slender ray of hope.....................
Any pro tips for a mom? I worry about this daily. My kids are in public school in CA. We do not want to homeschool.
Bypass the principal and go straight to the district. Teachers fear a district complaint!
Try and join up with other parents. Start a group so they can learn things. Anything is better than public school IMO. Or homeschool.
Your best solution would be to homeschool, IMHO. I realize that some people have other priorities but, truly, there are few things more important than the health, safety, and truly educated futures for our children.
Is there a geographic reason to be in California? Are you a Hollywood producer? Is your husband a stevedore at San Pedro? Are your kids good surfers? If there’s no unique reason to be there, leave.
My family has roots in Calif going back thousands of years. I can trace my ancestry back to when Father Serra first showed up in Calif, before that there is no written history of my ancestors but they were here.
Even with that long history, I am getting out of Calif next year. I've had it. I'm done.
I’m really sorry to read your post. I came here on my own from the east coast. I’m genuinely sorry it’s gotten that bad.
Post school activities that encourage proper development of your kids. Discipline, integrity, etc.
And it doesn't hurt to have conversations at the family table about short term and long term goals.
