It’s ok. I started 3d printing Lego parts when my nephew needed them. It’s not like they have a complex product
I believe their patent expired, so bricks are made by everyone now... All they have is branding which is why they're all in for characters but not twinys or robotics so much.
Lego isn't complex but the tolerances are very small. What this means is that the mould tools have to be made accurately and hardened to minimise wear - making them expensive.
The majority of ripoff copies are manufactured with relatively soft aluminium mould tools, which wear quickly, resulting in out-of-tolerance parts that don't fit nicely together.
(I'm not taking sides - just explaining the facts.)
As a long time buyer I agree there are ripoff substandard companies, but there are also firms like Lepin (if I got that spelling right) that are higher price and higher quality. They sell kits that Lego doesn't make, like trains, and knockoffs that are unique, like Minecraft style or pirate style working roller coasters. Then there's the old 3d printer, when there are some parts, connectors, etc you just have to have one or two of.
But if I had the capital, I'd be looking into a venture that could make bricks and other nice plastics here in the USA.
Lego has always been cucked. The only difference is by forming partnerships with legacy media, they are bigger than ever.
I have never really been a true fan, especially when they started favoring franchises over the themed sets. Original Castle, Blacktron, but most of all, Ice Planet were the peak of lego.
Ice planet was the first set to have facial expressions, outright gendered figures which meant first girl figure, and also brought back a full price range set. They should have called it quits there

How lego convinced people to pay for all gray pieces in Star Wars sets and pay 4x for what is really just technix in the expert sets is beyond me.
