Um... if you're talking about commandeering private property, then no. It's the"slippery slope" that, if allowed, would lead to quartering them in private homes. Nip this one in the bud.
Nip it in the bud? I say slam the foot on the accelerator.
NYers need to see. Staten Island and the immigrants are sensible but the transplants need to experience the full retardation of their politics.
White hats always leave us an out. The virtue signalers will take in the immigrants for that $100. It'll seem great at first. A few months in the cash runs out and now their apartment is taken over due to squatters rights. Lesson learned on the part of those who most need it.
$100 a day pays the full rent for a huge # of apartments. A lot of folks will bite on this. It's also completely unsustainable to shell out $36k for free every year! Where on earth will the taxes for that come from?
I thought the same thing. People have small apartments in NY. The ones with larger apartments will not care about the gov pay for housing an illegal immigrant.
Scams are also a significant part of the market, especially at rent controlled places. They're treated as an asset and inherited to friends as favors. I could see people getting multiple rent controlled places then turning around and renting them to illegals for $100 daily.
This is awesome. Spare room in NYC apartments? 🤣
There is a lot of empty commercial space though..

Yes! LFG!
This is another white hat lesson for the libtards. It also tees up a strengthening of private property rights when it's struck down. Win win, fren.
I like how you think ahead Fren. 👍

Wow. You are right. That would happen. NY tax payers will have to pay for that, too. Ikes! They need to vote out that mayor, for sure.
