This is not a good example, because I can’t find the original author of this book that I’m looking for.
But this is a Christian light, New Age type manifestation of what you agree to you before you come to earth. This is a lightweight example, so I’m not that sound of a basis for my comment.
If you want to do more research on it, go ahead. I have a bunch of stuff to do today. But this is why I don’t like what he said.
There’s an entire group of people out there that believe you made some type of a contract before you came to earth. The premise is this… That you agreed to go to earth for God, so you can gather information for Him. So you agree in advance to whatever life that you get, and it’s a contract that you signed before you come here.
It’s the stupidest idea ever, because the entire premise of this type of idealism, is that God is not smart enough, and he needs our help. If we believe this idea, then his blood that he shed on the cross is not sufficient for us. Because clearly, he needs our help… He needs our knowledge. It’s the most self-serving, and arrogant way to live your life. It’s Satanism. Satanism is the worship of self, so I can’t think of any other way that somebody would think more highly of themselves, that if they think they’re higher than God. That’s what Lucifer did, that’s where Satanism starts and finishes. exalting oneself above God.
Before I came to Christ, I was researching the New Age stuff and it seemed cool to me. I even researched Islam and other religions. At one point, I remember, I was sitting on my parents couch manyyyyyyy years ago, and I thought to myself "I want the TRUTH", and that day, Christ revealed Himself to me to be the Truth.
This is a great story! I love hearing stuff like this. If you ask, you will receive. God is good all of the time. Happy to hear about your conversion story.

Let me ask you this, does the idea of a soul making the conscious decision to return to earth and help other souls seem unreasonable? The guy in OP's post said nothing about getting info for God, you inserted that bit yourself as prejudice. The theory that ive followed is that were here to help bring humanity to a new golden age, wether that be spiritual, technological, societal, ect. Not to gather info for God, that sounds like a cult.
is that God is not smart enough, and he needs our help. If we believe this idea, then his blood that he shed on the cross is not sufficient for us.
Is it not true that we ask to be tools for God's will? If God can use me to spread joy and positivity right now then why would he stop using my soul after its left my body? When we pray for things that align with God's will he gives it to us. I see no reason why that would end at physical death
That idea does sound unreasonable. If any of that was true it would be in thee Bible. Since it's not, it's not coming from God. So it's misdirection at best, trying to derail well-intentioned pedes from worshipping God and accepting Jesus as their savior. Long story short, if it's not in the Bible, don't follow it.
If the bible contained every truth then it would be millions of pages. So it only sounds unreasonable to you because "if its not in the bible its untrue" so then what about chemical processes, are they listed in the bible? Is the whole periodic table of elements there? My point is just because something isnt in the holy book doesnt mean its not true. A book cannot cover all truth no matter how much you want it to, it is a physical object.
There is a difference between the Bible being entirely true and the Bible containing all truth in existence. The Bible is God’s word spoken to us through divine inspiration for specific purposes. Not for anything you can imagine should be in it. It is the manifestation for the preconditioning of truth. The whole idea of truth comes from the bible.
That being said, the wisdom of God is so dense it’s impossible to extract all of it. We are not even capable of comprehending everything in the bible. Only God can speak so simply but at the same time offer so much depth that much of its wisdom will never be found or understood by us.
God’s word says to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord.
I have heard of some people who died, and gone to heaven, and asked to come back to Earth. In an instant like that, I can’t refute that because it’s never happened to me.
But I’ve never heard of anybody, dying, and being dead for an extended amount of time, and then being given permission to come back down to earth.
There are two exceptions when Jesus was on the mount of transfiguration, and I believe it was Moses and Elijah that showed up. But that was only for a brief moment.
I agree, we are here to do God’s will, and I am all for that. And yes, I did add in my own conjecture regarding the other topic, but if you had looked my other comments, you would see that I conceited that I may have misinterpreted that.
What bothers me is when people start mixing in New Age philosophy with the word of God. Yes - Sure all things are possible with God. However, there is no message of reincarnation in the Bible. It’s His Word that I adhere to.
As for you, you get to believe whatever you want to believe. That’s your choice. We all have choices to make, and there are consequences for those choices.
The very basic number one rule for salvation is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. There are some other basic precepts, however, there’s a lot of gray area that people don’t agree on. I don’t think any of that gray area of disagreement disqualifies us from our salvation.
I am satisfied that my sufficiency is in Christ. I do not want to come back to this earth, I don’t even want to be on it now. Whenever he wants to take me, I am ready.
I would never serve a God that would make me come back and live this life more than once. End of!
But I’ve never heard of anybody, dying, and being dead for an extended amount of time, and then being given permission to come back down to earth.
Most likely because memory gets wiped when you enter a new physical body. That makes sense right? The people youre talking about "died" then returned to their own body. A soul's body could be a skeleton at the point they return.
there is no message of reincarnation in the Bible.
This is a topic ive talked about before but would love to get into it with you. Do you have any passages that distinctly says there is no reincarnation? Because i see a lot of evidence for it, not mandatory reincarnation, but i believe the ability exists. I see no reason why God would create a whole new soul when an existing one wants to continue to help. But what do i know im just a soul occupying a fleshy husk.
I understand your interest in this topic, it’s at age old, idealism. But quite frankly, I can’t imagine anybody wanna coming back to this earth more than once. It makes no sense to me at all whatsoever. But since you asked, here’s your answer.
It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" -Hebrews 9:27
When Jesus was dying on the cross, there were two thieves, hanging next to him. One did not believe, the other did. Jesus said to the believer, today, you will be with me in paradise. He didn’t say today you’ll be with me in paradise, but I’m going to send you back afterwards. Lol!
one would have to believe in a 'pre-existence' for that to take place. The mormons teach that as part of their theology of endless planets, eternal polygamous sex and an endless number of gods.

"It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" -Hebrews 9:27
The Bible clearly states men have one life to live disproving reincarnation and any new age belief system that hinges upon the belief in it.
Thank you for posting that. Always go back to God’s word! We’ll done!

If you read through the thread, you will see scriptures that support my thoughts. God bless you and have a great day.
