Where TF Does Our Tax Money Go?
🧐 Research Wanted 🤔
Federally we all know but locally, WTF? I, unfortunately, live in a NY (upstate) and my property taxes alone are 13k/year for town+school. Roads and bridges are crumbling with no projects in sight. Audits needed at local levels. We're being fleeced on all fronts. Near zero is being spent on infrastructure and it's been this way for nearly a decade. So where's it all going?
To house migrants in NYC 😁
True.
I remember back in my early 20s going to the horse show at the fonda fair grounds. Was a beautiful area. Ive wanted to move up there my whole adult life. Ive made a few trips up since my bestbfriend moved back up there. Maaaaaan the area looks like shit these days. Abandoned buildings everywhere. Whole streets of empty houses.
I rolled onto (i think) the george washington bridge.the fuck8ng thing aint even connected to land, was full of rot holes. Im scared of bridges to begin with,i was hoping it wasnt gonna fall into the river with me on it. Found out after i got there that i couldve avoided the bridge.
All the money is probably going to solar panels. They are everywhere up there. Completely ruins the gorgeous scenery. I was looking at some gorgeous farm and right in the middle of it was a field of solar panels blocking out the hills and mountains behind it.
Yup all the towns up here are hell holes now.
It's a circle jerk. The money comes back and gets passed out again and again to the same lot of people.
I'm in NJ. Property taxes are about 10k
We have the worst roads in the country.
And we have constant road construction. By highly paid Union outfits who are basically guaranteed the work.
Unions vote which way?
We have a highway job that was supposed to be done in 10 years{which is ridiculous to begin with}. The estimate now is an additional 10 years.
It'll be over 20 years of taxpayer dollars to basically fund a fucking circle jerk.
Then add in the tolls which are egregious statewide. And I'm talking intrastate highways.
Oh, don't forget the gas tax!
Look up Edgar County Watchdogs - they can help you find the answers to your questions!
I dunno but I live in a small town and we are suddenly have a billion dollar project to build a new hospital even though there is nothing wrong with the one we have already.... much of it coming from taxpayers since roads and sewers, and water and electricity, etc... all gotta be in place for it... NOBODY wants it but local government is doing in anyway and acting like they just have to do it because the hospital wants to do it...

Where does the money go? My guess is Panama.
Go attend the local public meetings. It's all discussed.
Oh I'm sure it's discussed and a balance sheet / budget is shown but the funds are not being directed as allotted. Impossible. Yet they have shiny new highway equipment.
If you live in a small town, you can goto these meeting and jack them up a bit. My dad when to the township meeting every month. He like to see and talk to his neighbors and keep the leadership honest.
I seem to remember that people were researching in the 90's state Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR) and noting that states had huge reserves of assets that could be used to finance everything without taxes.
Income tax pays for the interest on the national debt.
