I agree. Things are not working anymore like they always did in the USA.
We are becoming the Soviet Union where "they pretend to pay us and we pretend to work". The inefficiencies inherent in the Communist State caused its collapse.
The Work Ethic is systematically destroyed. Pride in work? people are more proud of scamming the system. welfare, looting are justified.
Riots and crime are excused. Property not protected, and only some lives really matter.
You mean a bloated empire that had become too greedy and reliant on colonization, leading to the literally millenia-old cycle of the methods of colonization coming home to roost upon the home populace, leading to ever greater wealth and power disparities, leading to an era of bread and circuses to distract the populace, leading to even the bread and circuses running out, until a quasi-democratic republic falls to fascism to withstand the troubles it made for itself, but even that is too little too late, and fhe empire crumbles upon itself?
Great article. It's too bad no one who can change things will ever read it.
I'm afraid we're going to have to collectively crash and burn, and even then, its doubtful those who remain to pick up the pieces will understand what ultimately caused the destruction.

I could go on . . .
Proud of scamming the system ... that's right!
Small business owners I believe are often still loyal to their employees, and sometimes (only sometimes) vice versa.
Starting to remind me of the world of Atlas Shrugged.
Or of Rome prior to the collapse.

There’s something ironic about that.
I dunno, I think the CEO being against safety standards is the more relevant position here...

Shouldn't they be banging out an SOS? The Titanic was one of the first ships to radio for help using SOS. The former code was CQD.
I doubt anyone on board knows what morse code is. Maybe the one guy but whos to say all 5 people are conscious.
I heard on UK TV news that every 30 minutes they WERE banging out the SOS code in Morse.
