This makes me wonder if the quarterly financial reports are all made up. If there are not subscriptions, then how are they making money? If it's all a lie, then the lie will be exposed one way or another. Too bad, soon we might go back to three channels on our televisions instead of one thousand.
For those who have televisions.... I personally woudn’t have one if it was offered free.
Bank of America certainly lied on their last quarterly report.

"My suspicion is that the streamers are refusing to share the viewership #’s NOT because they’re being cheap BUT because no one is watching AND revealing extremely low viewership would kill the stock price"
Anecdotally, for me, plenty of people are "binging" this crap and I'd be shocked if numbers weren't at least solid. But I can imagine a scenario where they're lower than investors might expect (basically people having plans and then letting them sit inactive for extended periods).
I hope Andrew is right though!
They have never shared the numbers. They have only given vague ideas when a show is extremely successful, like Tiger King or the Donner doc.
Was not the record and CD industry re-set in the same fashion?
Exactly what I was thinking. Lars could be the official whiner
Here is the thing, unlike the Nielsen Company, the streaming platforms are capable of knowing exactly, how much folks are watching their shows. Neilson basically does guess work, but the streaming platforms if they choose to can pedabytes of data showing how much a show is watched when people pause it, and when they walk away.
They could have it. In all cases they actually do.
However, they know its the smoking gun for Hollywood writers, actors, and others striking. They will NEVER share this data. I mean ever. It makes them money, and the vampires in Hollywood know this.
So where do we go from here? Hollywood is having the worst box office in decades, and they are running out of money... in some cases literally (Disney having to sell parts of the company). On top of this, other streaming platforms like Rumble, Kick, and even Youtube in some cases are proving you can do a TV show and have it be extremely successful. There are two examples of massive hits:
Both are made, funded, and distributed outside the Hollywood system have proven extremely successful and financially viable.
So if I were some vampires in Hollywood I'd be shitting bricks. The media take-over of Youtube is failing, folks aren't watching their crap but are watching other shows on there, or moving to rumble. Nobody is watching their Hollywood schlock, but they are interested in well written media. There are a lot of private groups out there that can fund a 15 million dollar production if they know it will make 40 million, which is much less the $110 that Sound of Freedom has made so far.
They may find if they want to save their sinking ship... they might have to share part of that info and get everybody back to work or the little guys are going to leave them in the dust.
me thinking to myself How does he know Helluva Boss isn’t for me? I’m well rounded. I have interests outside of here. I can watch business shows. He don’t knoooow me!
web searches Helluva Boss and 2 seconds later Funana was right. Not for me.
(You get me.)
There is an explosion of adult animated shows with similar satanic themes.
I don't watch any of that crap.
the point is, hollywood is collapsing because a lie is calling out a lie
yay!
