Around the time Tool released Aenima in 1996, MJK started explaining how his lyrical subject matter would do more exploration of the occult. If you look at their lyrics from all their albums, many are consistent with occult beliefs which Satanism and even proto-Nazi German mysticism is based on.
For instance, lyrics from The Grudge talking about Saturn rising.
"Saturn comes back around
Lifts you up like a child
Or drags you down like a stone"
Or the Hinduistic third eye stuff, or finding the secret to enlightenment in your DNA as the lyrics of 46 & 2 mention.
The thing is that MJK is well aware of where these beliefs lead. He knows well who Aleister Crowley and Anton LaVey are.
Huge Tool fan. The fact they took 13 years off and released an album called "Fear Inoculum" in August of 2019 is mind blowing to me. Then you read into the lyrics throughout the album and can't help but think this is part of something much bigger.
Check out the video for "Sowing The Seeds Of Love" by Tears for Fears and their other material. They too just came out with a new album with some very interesting content.
Other bands of note: Alter Bridge, Haken, The Hives, Styx, Iron Maiden
Oh boy I forgot about that video. Watching it again sure mmm with a new perspective certainly makes it pretty obvious it has been in our face all the time!!!
If you grew up in the 70/80s you might remember adults saying rock music was devil music. I always thought they were crazy. I never listened to the lyrics and I didn't understand what the message was, thank God. As adult I hear songs I've heard 40-50 years and I'm thinking oh it says that! I can't imagine what message is from current music that I don't listen to.
Same! I never paid attention to the lyrics but now as an adult it absolutely makes me sick that it’s been out there in full view the whole time. Perspective is everything. And boy has mine changed!
Perspective is everything
You got that right! I've got a six month old grandchild and that's probably the biggest factor for me letting go of old ways.
See my reply to another comment here. I saw a video about a year ago. This kid maybe 8-10 in back seat asked his dad why they spelled the name wrong, "Cum on feel the noise". First that dad should not have posted online. His face was shocked and honestly I've never thought about what the song meant. I knew it didn't mean come but even as a wild teenager I didn't know what that was. The only thing I song I remember keeping from my kid my was Jimmy Buffet, "why don't we get drunk and screw" I always skipped that song on the cd. We mostly listened to 90s country with her and that was pretty tame. She's never liked rock n roll or other genres, probably a good thing.
Blessingsw to you on your journey. We are going to need it!
Welcome to "The Machine", Frens. Don't even try to get me started on lyrical and poetic "messages" that we all derive differently. Or the politics of payola. It's been going on for generations. Motown was highly threatened by some white girls blowing them away. The white girls got, at best, some later billing in Vegas. Outlaw country was too real for radio play. Street rap from the ghetto turned thug. "Sell out! With me, oh yeah! Sell out! With me tonite! The record company's gonna give me lots of money and everything's gonna be all right!"
I can't find it now but there was a great animated video by a band where a young kid was walking around and sad that everyone was glued to their handheld advice. Believe it was from 2015 or so
Music has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. As an adult it has been great when I needed an escape. I've said for years it's better than therapy. I still believe it's good for me & maybe others. I know it's not my salvation, only Jesus is that. In the last few years I've been into 80s bands that I liked in high school. GNR is one that I love and they rock! I only know the hits and not the deep tracks.
Yesterday while driving GNR Used to love her comes on the radio. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I listened long enough to get an understanding of the song and turned it off.
I used to love her but I had to kill her
I used to love her, oh yeah, but I had to kill her
I had to put her six feet under
And I can still hear her complain
I used to love her, oh yeah, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, ooh yeah, but I had to kill her
I knew I'd miss her so I had to keep her
She's buried right in my backyard
Oh yeah
Ooh yeah
Whoa-oh, yeah
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, ooh yeah, but I had to kill her
She bitched so much, she drove me nuts
And now I'm happier this way
Whoa-oh, yeah
Take it for what it is
(Sir)

I was going to post in general chat yesterday and didn't have time. I believe God is testing me (long story health related). I also believe he's pushing me away from things like this and towards biblical knowledge and living better. After being in the car about an hour I had skipped at least five songs.
. Garth Brooks Calling Baton Rouge: I've always loved that song and have seen Garth twice. I don't know if it's related to him or not but every city he's toured in has had at least one missing person on the same date. Social media comments about him are rampant, "where's the bodies" and saying they don't like him because he's a liberal and his recent comments on gay/trans.
. Elton John: someone I grew up loving. I didn't care that he was gay. After he defended Spacey I'm done.
. Twisted Sister: never loved them but a few songs were good. Don't listen anymore!
. Bruce Springsteen: I'll be getting rid of that 80s vinyl I found in a thrift store.
There were other songs that the lyrics were questionable. Don't remember them.
Music has always helped me too. But I never paid attention to the lyrics. I can hardly even listen anymore. I’ve always viewed music as “the universal language”, loving all kinds of music. Jesus is my savior and I’m holding on to him as I give up things that have brought me comfort in the past. I’ve been “awake” since 2020 but wow, when they say people won’t be ready, I totally agree. I’d like to think I’m ready but wow the lies and “swampiness” runs thru absolutely EVERYTHING!!
70s Elvis is my all time favorite but I know he's not Jesus. Lord I hope I never find out anything terrible about him. My user name is an Elvis song and I say I'm moody blue in music choices. Listen to sad songs when I'm happy and Led Zeppelin when I'm sad. My daughter sent me a new song by one of our favorite newer artists. It's about love. So I started the video on YouTube and it's two men in a secret relationship. I never expected that from this guy. He's from Kentucky and sings about regular life. I didn't finish it. Texted my daughter and said don't watch video. If I knew anyone going into professional music, sports or actor I'd have to speak up.
I started waking up in 2020 after coming here and reading for six months and finally made an account. I'm to the point I don't want to know anymore but my personality won't let me hide. I despise lying more than anything else. I've been watching videos on YouTube Jim Caviezel & Tim Ballard (separately). I can't believe these videos are still up.
Blessingsw to you on your journey. We are going to need it!
Maybe Elvis really did fake his death to get OUT. There’s a real man that looks and sounds like him that is a preacher. Wouldn’t that blow people’s minds? I understand about not wanting to know. I can’t lie and when I know something bad I feel if I can Inhabe to help. I talk about it all to anyone who’ll listen and those not ready I just say ok, you heard it hear first. I pray for those not awake as well as those involved in evil deeds. I pray they turn away from that life and seek Jesus. Cause we all know God wins in the end. 🙏⚓️😇
Strong work! How about Pink Floyd Brick in the Wall…. Leave those kids alone! Amazing looking back. BTW I never cared Elton John was gay, neither did my Dad who loved his music.
Holy crap… then “Magic Dance” by David Bowie came on. It’s been right in our faces all along. When you know you know and you can never go back. Isn’t there another song about babies by DB? I’ll do some checking.
David Bowie - Cat People (Putting Out Fire) With Lyrics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwc56DhSuII How long have we supposedly been pursuing peace… NATO said at the end of the cold war they would not expand by one inch but then mile after mile (note NATO Finland and Sweden additions) they have been supposedly eager to put out the fire… just with gasoline!!!! Industrial military complex bullshit. What has the satanist cabal been up to with all their gasoline attempts at control for so long…
Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World (lyrics) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P7f6pvFqpY Who did Bowie meet to cause writing such lyrics? Was it Hitler himself? He supposedly died in Germany but much evidence suggests, the cabal enabled many top ranking nazi’s to flourish in south America and indeed in senior positions within the USA including NATO, etc.
Diamond Dogs….Future Legend….The whole album actually.
Awooooooooooo
And in the death
As the last few corpses lay rotting on the slimy thoroughfare
The shutters lifted an inch in temperance building, high on Poacher's Hill
And red mutant eyes gazed down on Hunger City
No more big wheels
Fleas the size of rats sucked on rats the size of cats
And ten thousand peoploids split into small tribes
Coveting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers
Like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts of Love-Me Avenue
Ripping and rewrapping mink and shiny silver fox, now legwarmers
Family badge of sapphire and cracked emerald
Any day now, the year of the Diamond Dogs

Yes Genesis!!
The Tool album Fear Inoculum was released in August of 2019, right as the ‘pandemic’ was starting. Check out the lyrics to the song Fear Inoculum.

HipHop artist Busta Rhymes released ELE2 right as the pandemic started
ELE is extinction level event. Album cover is a COVD mask.
Alice and wonderland eating people music video. they eat alice at the end
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0JvF9vpqx8
Of course he knew...
This right here.
The video always struck me as strange. Why would music meant to appeal to teenagers and young adults use imagery from a children's book?
Oh boy I forgot about that video. Watching it again sure mmm with a new perspective certainly makes it pretty obvious it has been in our face all the time!!!
End of the video he starts eating Alice, like those spirit cooking images.

Tha waiting is the hardest part.
😭
I've been hearing a lot of Tom petty on the radio lately, I noticed it even before i saw your post. Maybe someone upped it on rotation.
In the song Learning to Fly by Tom Petty...there's a lyric "steal your crown". As in your crown shakra? It can be stolen eh? Makes you wonder!!
Trees went by, Me an' Del were singin' "Little Runaway", I was sublime

Politics of payola…. Like that. Gonna have to use it. LOL

Elvis Costello - The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes
David Bowie - let’s dance alsomtalks about putting on red shoes and dance the blues.
Omgoodness, I’ve never heard that song. Listening right now. He literally says he won’t get any older…. In our freaking faces!!!!
If you like Billy Joel's song, check out the new age remake of that song by Fall Out Boy.
Just listened to it…. 😳
Which song?
I can’t remember which one that prompted me to think about it. I’m still looking. Keep ya posted when I find it

Lyrics: Guns N' Roses Used to Love Her
Ok, it's like, it's bitchin', fussin', cussin'
I used to love her but I had to kill her I used to love her, oh yeah, but I had to kill her I had to put her six feet under And I can still hear her complain

Not sure if this is relevant … But Alice Cooper did Billion Dollar Babies and while the baby has Alice eyes…they are panda-ish as well.
Yep just ran across that. There also white rabbits and checker board black and white. Right in faces all along.
I was never a fan. Looked up the album. Wow!! Symbolism everywhere….
