Public Health officials have too much power, and fear grips the minds of citizens. As a Mayor, how would you go against masks, lockdowns, and the vax without coming across as the "Qanon conspiracy quack" ?
My thought is to find very short and credible pieces of true science and start an info campaign well ahead of the next plandemic. But I would want to have a different group disseminate it. Then I can facilitate an intelligent discussion that empowers the people.
Other suggestions? Stealth ideas? Specific pieces of info you suggest using?
In general, this exercise/hypothetical could be good for any of us who are in elected positions (I am not... yet). I value your insights.
Let me give you the example of my home county, Knox County in east Tennessee. During the last covid BS we had a county health director by the name of Buchanan. She tried to issue edicts to restaurants, schools, and all manner of places, ordering shutdowns, mask wearing, etc. Our County Mayor, bless his heart, Glenn Jacobs (yeah, the wrestler who went by the name of Kane) put an end to that and got the county commission to reel Buchanan in. She either retired or quit (or was privately fired) after that.
This time around, if the next covid brouhaha comes about, I think we are going to be a lot less Draconian about it...maybe a few reminders to wash your hands and eat healthy.
Great example of process. Thanks!
I'm sure you can find the details online. Good luck.

I think the argument lies in the "authorities" to issue mask mandates, lockdowns, etc. As we observed during the wu flu, most of the "officials" ordering lockdowns (think Fauci) were not elected policy makers - they were unelected bureaucrats, often without the authority to do anything except make recommendations. The CDC is a private organization - NOT a government agency, event though they are federally funded. They do not have the authority to order anything, as they lack the authorization from Congress.
A mayor is an elected official, and as a representative of the people, can choose to ignore mandates from organizations that only have the authority to recommend specific actions.
Additionally, if I were a mayor, if I had to, I would also "detain" anyone from the government that tries to enforce unlawful mandates, and send them packing on the next thing smoking out of my town. The County Sheriff also has a huge amount of authority in such matters. Make friends with the Sheriff and keep him on your side.
Excellent insights! Thanks
Randy Kelton, host of Rule of Law Radio, filed a 62 page criminal complaint against the Governor of Texas for his violations of law during COVID. The governor soon changed his policies afterwards. For now, it is a very educational brief and an example of how to write a clear legal document:

C. Primary Political Protection
Knowing the tendency of power to corrupt, the Legislature, in delegating operational authority to the Governor, placed strict limits on that authority. The limit being that the Governor could issue orders to public agencies and employees, but not to the public itself. That power was restricted to the legislature. The intent of our founders in this regard can hardly be misconstrued on reading the Texas Constitution Bill of Rights as Section 28 which reads as follows:
Sec. 28. SUSPENSION OF LAWS. No power of suspending laws in this State shall be exercised except by the Legislature.
Well, the governor suspended laws on his own and violated the constitution.
Do you have sauce for that filing being the evidence that Abbott backed down?
Not seeing any.
This comment needs better visibility.
Kelton didn't file the complaint to put anyone in jail, but rather to apply political pressure. Everyone who touched the complaint and did not process the complaint as the law commanded, then got their own criminal complaint.
Gotcha. So it’s not necessarily “the thing”, but it did contribute to “turning up the heat”.
Is this sort of thing filed against the bonds of their offices, or them personally? It seems like a similar thing to what Martin Geddes has been doing in the UK, leveraging common and constitutional law, but it’s not clear what this is called to look up how to do it.
It did seem like his website probably had some information on what he did.
Refuse to implement the lockdowns. Instruct your sheriff to ignore any directives from Washington. Inform your citizens that because of the dismal track record of the CDC, you are rejecting their recommendations for immediate lockdowns. Publish the CDC guidelines. Give the people the choice. Mask, don't mask, jab, don't jab. If you are afraid, stay home. If you are not, live your life. Business the same. Offer alternative information like the front line doctors, mercola, GAW. Secure supplies of IVM, HCQ, and vitamins for sale. Inform your city that you are following the Constitution of the Untied States with regards to their rights, not some rogue government directive. Get local doctors to use what works, not what is dictated. Don't trust Washington. End of Rant.
And a fine rant that was. Thanks
You need to defend them from psyops deployed by rogue intel agencies against them. You have the Constitution. Deputized citizens, sheriffs sand former military can arrest all co-conspirators. They are in the usurpation of power. Set an example. Don't negotiate with terrorist and globalist intel rogue agencies.
Put up a sign no masks allowed/zero tolerance
Make it a sanctuary county
I know a bunch of people that don't "buy" into Q.
Still they are done with masks. They are tired of the BS. They saw the nonsense that made no sense. They know that a mask cannot stop a virus.
If there is another fear push about covid they will not comply or at the very least will speak out against the narritive. Enough like that and the narritive will not hold.
I suspect that if there is another pandemic fear push it will not be covid. It will be something more scary.
Do. Not. Comply.
I would point to years past and how ineffective those protocols were
