Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Will this 'crap' ever stop??? It seems now that my most favorite bath soap DOVE is now sponsoring a BLM activist named Zyahna Bryant. I guess I'll have to swap to Caress. Another Boycott it seems.
Ivory is less expensive and better. Large bottle less than 6 dollars.
Ivory is a good clean soap; however, it tends to cause between my fingers to turn white which I do not like. This was what my Mother bought for us kids when we were growing up. For some reason, it loved to get between my fingers and toes, turn white and then flake.
To get back at them just use Lye
I remember using Lye soap when I lived with my Grandmother. She used it to help prevent Dandruff. I used it just to be trying it.
Got bad news, Mary, Unilever owns both Dove and Caress! :(
Ah Geez! Just my luck. I'm probably going back to Zest now.
Blurb from wikipedia on Zest:
It looks like Zest is okay in the states.
So hard to get away from these bastards, they own everything in one way or another!
Thank God. I don't like 'HAVING' to order soap if I can keep from it, so Zest it is. God bless.
I have been using goat soap. It has more cleaning power and the lather washes away easily leaving a squeaky clean surface.
But then won’t there be a shortage for goats that need to take a bath?
Castile soap is the business Mary, just great stuff.
I just found it online. I will see about trying a bar of the American Made Kirk's. Thanks.
I love this soap, it has a mild scent, used it for years but it can be a little strong for sensitive areas, very alkaline. Commercial soaps are full of chemicals. I also use olive oil based soaps, for a gentler and skin moisturizing affects. Of course, like most things purer with less ingredients, they cost more.
I'll probably buy a bar and try it out. I'll let you know if I like it. Thanks
I have never heard of it. Where do you find it?
Try https://www.drbronner.com/ There's others too.
Yes, I'm glad you shot me the link. Now I don't know which one to order first.
