Disagree on this one. Not that nothing more is needed, but rather, that the Catholic church is only bad.
In many cases, when protestants and Christians of other more recent denominations were happy just focusing on their own salvation, it was the Catholics who stood on the front line in the cultural wall, against Communism, against abortion, and against so much of the DS agenda.
The spirit runs deep in all branches of the Christian walk. But likewise, so does evil. There are many Catholics who are devoted, love Jesus and have a big heart for God. In my opinion, these are more important to God than doctrinal affirmations.
Yes, the Catholic Church was infiltrated way back, but it was STILL founded by Jesus through his disciples. That cannot be simply erased.
If you are an American, would you give up your passport and citizenship, because of what "America" has been and done over the past [x] decades/centuries?
God is the God of restoration. His purpose is to restore all things. There will be a point where the Catholic church and it's adherents will naturally move on, but the truth is, there is still a war in the Catholic church, and like everywhere, it's DS vs the Sincere and devoted (or patriotic).
I'm of the opinion that it was evil from inception and, despite that, there have no doubt been countless members of it with pure hearts toward God, so I'm not taking anything away from that. But the entire concept of a pope is blasphemous--Jesus is the mediator between God and man, not some man who lets people call him father and kiss his ring. The papacy = the antichrist, every single one. The office of papacy is antichrist. God has used the Catholic church for good throughout the ages, yes, but need I bring up the atrocities? A literal 1,000 years of darkness. The founding fathers of America knew this too, and Catholics used to be barred from holding public office I believe... not to mention the very reason America was formed, to get away from the whore of Babylon!
edit- and I wish the Catholics(?) downvoting my anti-Catholic comments would step out and counter something! Maybe I'll re-think some of my positions?
The classic reductionist fallacy is not a valid argument. Catholicism is obviously not about kissing a ring and you're knowingly lying by pushing this. Ignoring history isn't a valid basis for argument, here's the first rebuttal- get your facts straight. Start with Maryland the Catholic colony, the only one that ACTUALLY allowed freedom of religion, while the pilgrims and puritans were torturing, maiming and horribly executing members of other religions. Blaming the Catholic Church for politics, the old 1000 years of darkness trope, is a stretch worthy of 'the parties switched.' Like blaming the libraries that were burned for the loss of knowledge.
Let's start another path- why have the forces of darkness continued to violently attack the Catholic Church, above all others, even though it had clearly been infiltrated all the way up? Why are protestant churches not burned down, preachers stabbed in the streets, why is the Host of Catholics still sought after by evil for their black masses? Why do they rail so hard and lie so much about the Mother of Christ instead of respecting her? The real corruption wasn't enough, they have to continue to invent false accusations like genocide of indigent children, to cover the current human trafficking, sex abuse in schools and temples etc.
Freedom of Religion has been taken to an absurd extreme (think baphomet statues in gov't areas, open Muslims in govt etc) and from what I've heard, every amendment to the Constitution is invalid, and they were added via Jesuit subversion in order to shield the incoming Catholic infiltration into America (from it's conception)
How can you separate the ring kissing? How can you separate the bowing to other men? The calling other men Holy Father? The "infallability"? It's hardwired, so I'll use it to attack the whole beast.
The first protestants all knew who the antichrist, whore of Babylon, and beast were. Protestant churches today have all slowly been subverted by the Vatican (think ecumenical movement, World Council of Churches)
The pilgrams doing what the Catholics did for 1,000 years? How long did they do it? Idk. Not excusing that behavior no matter who did it, but let's be real. Nobody in history has a bloodier stained robe than the Vatican. Not to mention all the other scandal and abominations coming out of there. Why? How could Christ's bride still be so wicked even after He rose from the dead and we now have access to His spirit?
Mary was a faithful follower of God, but that's where I draw the line as to MY reverence for her. What Christ decides to do in relation to her position in Heaven is none of my business and makes no difference to my own walk with Him, and I sure ain't praying to her so she can ask Jesus for me. Where does it say to do that?
All those strawmen at the end can stand there, I'm not even gonna try
That's a lot of ignorance and nuttiness in one rant, I'm truly amazed. Infallibility isn't about the Pope, noting he says is infallible like that, you poor misled hater. Dogma doesn't say you have to kiss a ring, weird how you're hung up with that (hoping there's no trauma in your past). Super how you heard this and heard that then come back with 'where does it say to do X?' The internet, where you got all that other nonsense lol He said that's our mother, but hey you can shop and choose His words apparently. Praying for you, because when emotion tramples logic like that, something else is going on in one's life. Hope you find truth and peace, brother.
