North Carolina Republicans override governor's veto to enact elections overhaul ahead of 2024 | CNN Politics
Republican lawmakers in North Carolina on Tuesday enacted major changes to the state’s election laws, triggering immediate legal challenges from Democrats and voting rights groups.
Thanks for sharing this news. This is a great start. Way to go North Carolina.
Occasionally we apparently get something right... Now to get Mark Robinson in the governor's mansion, and Mashburn in to continue Robinson's work on education.
Half check? Cooper's on a trip to Japan so Robinson is currently acting gov lol
We should put Cooper's name on the No Fly list, so they don't let him back in the country!
State constitution says congress makes election law, congress votes to overhaul and democrats want to challenge in court . . . if a judge overturns this that judge should be tarred and feathered
A radical commie judge overturned the will of the people many years ago in NC. We had voted in a bill to require voted ID in that years election, and this asshole judge ruled that it was rascist and unconstitutional.
It is a blessed day!
They'll try to convince you they were serious about doing this, you know, for the people and the institutions and all that crap.
Then why not immediately do it after the contentious 2020 election? Why wait to ostensibly see how Trump is doing in the polls before you absolutely panic and try to pass bad legislation?
We didn't have the super majority in the NC legislature that we do today.
So glad we were able to gain a super majority here in NC to override our lame duck Governor Cooper. Next year we get to vote in Mark Robinson for Governor. And will finally have a great Conservative Governor. All the cheating to elect Governor Cooper came from the absentee ballots during the 2020 election. Never made any sense that Trump won the state but a number of Demoncraps ended up winning the state elections
