Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Two weekends ago, two coworkers and I did a weekend job together with kids, and all three of us came down sick. The other two "tested positive" for COVID. I was told that I should get tested "just to be sure." Sure of what? Me getting tested wouldn't have made me any healthier or sicker. I told my coworker that I do not expect him to understand this, but I did not wish to get "tested" because I don't care what I had. I said that testing positive would just make me another statistic used by the fearporn media to scare people more. I would fight my illness on my own terms and through my own strength. I started feeling badly Monday night, then I only had a high fever and bad headache (I never get headaches) for two days. By Thursday I no longer had a fever or headache. I took NAC, Quercetin, zinc, D3, Chinese herbal decongestant, and OTC cough syrup (but only when necessary). So whatever I had, I got over it no big deal. I've had worse.
No difference except that Covid should maybe be hit with some larger doses of Quercitin, and it would be treated with something like Claritin and Pepcid to lower the histamine in your respiratory and gut. If you have a high fever and know you are sick, do the same thing that you would if you were contagious with anything, stay away from old people and babies, don't share drinking glasses, cover your cough, wash your hands after you blow your nose or sneeze. it's called common sense health practice, which has been around for a long time.
Unless you would change your behavior based on the results of the test it makes no logical sense whatsoever to do so.
If it's true (as has been found, allegedly) that the test swabs are doped with spike protein, graphene, or other toxic substances, then getting tested WOULD have made you sicker, at least in the long run.
Yes, I've heard all about that. Even if it is not true, I don't want to give any chance to make it worse. I don't trust doctors for anything anymore. Even before all of this Event 201 crap started, my appendix burst because the doctor said it was "probably just gas." He gave me a prescription for some gas pill. Then a few days later, my appendix burst.
Holy crap! THAT can't have been fun.
I have had misdiagnoses also, but nothing that caused any trouble. That's partly because I ignored them and either got another opinion or just took care of the problem myself, but also because none of the situations were immediately dangerous. I do know other people who were not as fortunate, however.
