While Sarah definitely did a Great Job as Press Secretary, we need someone in Trumps inner, trusted circle to bring the pain back to the Deep State should something happen to him. I think she's been completely loyal since she joined his team. No snide remarks, no January 6 distancing. And I have to disagree with you about Mike Huckabee - he never lived in Washington D.c., was mostly opposed by the RINO/donor class, had Romney figured out from the get go.
Whether Sarah is ready for the ticket, I don't know - there was another Governor Sarah who was chosen for VP at about the same point in her career. Trump could certainly do worse.
