Note the two mags duct-taped together. To make that work, you have to put a spacer between the two mags, and a cut up #2 pencil works just fine. OR, you could simply go Vietnam style and tape the 2 mags pointing in opposite directions and offset about 4 inches, I've seen that work too.
Although this is a Vietnam pic showing an M-14, the idea works for AR's too.
