The Chinese crapboxes they have been passing off as Buicks aren't any better.
I’m really sad they axed that new regal gs. Thing was about 100ft-lbs of torque from being a REAL hoot.
Back in the 1960s, my father once said he wished he had a Buick so long, it would need hinges in the middle to turn into our driveway.
There were some huge monster cars back then. I had a 1966 Lincoln in the late 1970s. It floated down the road. It was black, with black vinyl top and white leather seats. The trunk was big enough to have a small party in. Idling at stoplights, I couldn't tell if the engine was running except by looking at the dash. It was the quietest car I've ever owned. But if you pressed the accelerator very hard, you could literally see the gas needle drop. It had electric seek and find on the radio and an antenna that would go up and down at the push of a button. Bonus feature: a 4-channel 8-track tape player and nice speakers. I miss that car.
another "green" success story!!!
You joke, but you're right. Environmentalism isn't the goal, it's to curtail regular people's freedom of movement. Fewer dealerships mean fewer cars will be sold, forcing more people onto restrictive public transportation.
Fewer dealerships does not equate to fewer vehicles sold. Toyota, Kia,Hyunday, and Honda have much much larger sales per dealership.
Total sales / # dealers / sales per dealer
Toyota 1,849,751 / 1277 / 1448
Kia 693,549 / 786 / 882
hyundai 724,625 / 842/ 860
Honda 881,201 / 1073 / 821
ford 1,767,439 / 3000 / 589
chevy 1,502,389 / 4205 / 357
It does if this retardation continues. Blighted urban centers become food deserts when enough grocery stores close due to rampant theft, it'll be the same if enough dealerships close due to government mandates making it unprofitable to have their lots full of electric cars few people want to buy.
GM sucks now.
Agreed only about three vehicles in the the whole GM family I’d want to own.
New cars suck, and they're ugly too.
I love my 40 year old Buick.
And they just keep going.
Had a 92 century and put 300,000 miles on it.
Gave it to my Nephew and he's put close to another 100 k on it.
Same engine but always used full synthetic oil...
A Nissan Murano with the deep blue metallic paint job looks pretty good. I had one a while back (around 5 years ago) that had all the bells and whistles.
GM is envious of Tesla’s direct sale model. But the dealers stand in their way. I imagine they are going to monkey with incentives to make those buyouts really enticing.
It ain't easy being green.

Kermit was ahead of his time. But, then again, he's a frog. 🐸
My cousin owns two Tesla Plaids, but he's rolling in money and has dozens of classy cars. Like most things he owns, you can probably rent one for the right price. His yachts can be rented, his jet planes can be rented. As businesses, none of that really costs him.
the only "electric" car I'd consider is an older Prius because they go 400k miles and the battery is "cheap" to replace, like $4000, compared to the 20k or 30k to replace a battery on the far far lower volume electrics.
A full EV just isn't a good idea unless you have lots of cash to fix it, and only drive around town. Or only use it on a lease.
