I've been digging a lot on Swift, but another thing you might want to look into is the previously unknown game PALS WORLD. It is by an unknown company, but it's outselling established games and becoming the most dominant game in just a matter of days. People can't understand why Nintendo doesn't sue it into oblivion for its blatant pokemon ripoff. It's called POKEMON WITH GUNS.

Palworld arrived on Jan. 19, so that growth laps some of the most commercially solvent franchises in the industry—the server concentrations of Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto V can eat their hearts out. All this is to say that Pocketpair has a genuine phenomenon on its hands: Palworld, much like Fortnite or Minecraft before it, is poised to dominate the corridors of elementary schools for the rest of 2024, for better or worse.

“It’s not even subtle about its rip offs, how much else has it stolen?” wrote one user. Another added: “I want to like Palworld, but I don’t know if I can support running existing Pokemon through a fusor and passing them off as ‘new’ IP”. In a blog post published this week, the CEO even claimed that Palworld’s 100 character concepts were made mostly by a single graduate student.

“She was a new graduate and had applied to nearly 100 companies, but failed them all,” he wrote. “And she is now drawing most of the characters in Palworld.”

Palworld is being developed and published by Pocket Pair, an independent company based in Shinagawa, Tokyo. It is their second early access open-world survival project, following Craftopia. Like that game, it uses gameplay mechanics reminiscent of Minecraft and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but adds creature-collecting mechanics popularized by the Pokémon franchise

The game's antagonists are various factions, such as a crime syndicate, a Pal liberation movement, and a police-like island defense force, led by powerful Pal trainers who reside in Towers across the islands and act as the game's main boss battles.[13] The factions have human NPCs who occasionally spawn in the world as well, either patrolling or battling each other, who are hostile to the player and can fight them with weapons. The game also features a wanted level system, where if the player commits a crime (usually against humans, such as assault), other human NPCs will become hostile against them and defense force troopers will spawn to attack them, until the player is killed or they evade their pursuers.[
