Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment

-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Children are the mirrors of the adults they are around. I hit my hand today and my skin is thin I get pooled up blood at the surface like a dang 80 year old, too much sun in my life. It broke the skin so I grabbed a bandaid it’s colorful. Granddaughter tried to pull it off. Started crying because she didn’t have one. I put bright pink bandaid on her hand and she was happy.
Videos of little kids cursing or doing things kids miss behaving. I used to watch them because they were funny then the lightbulb went off. Growing up I heard cursing but I knew it was wrong and didn’t do it. There’s a video of a kid, maybe 4, he’s laying down with his head in a little tikes car & feet hanging out. He’s working on the car with tools. Then the cursing starts. I’ll admit it’s funny and I watched it more than once. Now imagine what that kid hears daily. Now imagine what kids of drug dealers, drug addicts, gang members, prostitutes hear and see. It’s just another form of evil and the devil getting our children. Children are the future, good or bad they are the future generations of the world.
Living in Japan, I had given up on America and was ready to bite my lip and vote for Bernie because he was the only one speaking out against the TPP (at least he was pretending to). Then I caught a Paul Joseph Watson video criticizing some libtard commercial that thought it was cute to have little children say "Trump needs to shut the fuck up!" This was so terrible, and I didn't even know that Trump was running for President. Then I looked into him and saw that he was highly vocal against the TPP, as well as other things. I had planned to vote for him just because that commercial was so tasteless and terrible, but he had my vote when I really saw how genuine he was.
Truer words could not be spoken. The examples we lead are what the children see and model themselves after. It’s hard to judge some children because it’s all they know. But then there are instances of where the parents were good moral people and the kids made bad choices. My daughter teaches 4th grade in a small rural area of our county. She says some of those kids do not have a chance t for a good life because the parents are horrendous. She shared with me a couple weeks ago that one of her little girl students had been raped by her stepfather. It broke her heart. She struggled to keep it together while telling me this. Then there we were both crying like babies. She said the little girl still wanted to come to school because loves to learn. She said it’s the hardest thing to keep it together as she looks at this poor child. Please pray her little life has not been ruined.
So true, my son was about 2, barely talking much. He was in his car seat and someone cut me off, and I said to myself, not loud, "what the fuck is he doing'? I thought it was quiet enough. 5 days later, I stop to go to a yard sale, and start maneuvering around the cars parked along the road. From the back I hear the pip squeak say outloud "what the fuck is he doing". I was aghast, but to be honest I had to really make sure he did not see my stifling a laugh. Gawd almost peed my pants.
I did not know that! Yes, they are parrots at that age. Children may not obey, but they always will listen.
😂 It really is hard trying not to laugh when a precious little one comes out with something like that. From the mouths of babes...
