I think this is part of the defense process. I think they can go to the appeals court to get the bond lowered. It could be as low as zero.

The judge already rejected the proposal to lower it to 100 million.
I'm reading that they were negotiating with Chubb to do the bond. The same company he just got a bond from. And Chubb just informed them, they would no to of take real estate as collateral. And that is what necessitated this filing.
The filing also said Chubb was the only bond company willing to consider real estate.
It looks like something caused negotiations to stop.

Bond is due next Monday.
