The consumer goods giant said the move is part of a growth strategy to create a leaner business.
Anytime buzz words like “Leaner Business” get used. Especially in the context of spinning off brands, or layoffs. It’s code for the company’s internal financials aren’t looking good.
Given they’re getting rid of the ice cream brands entirely and not just problem children like Ben & Jerry’s. I’d imagine their financials are worse then expected. Or they’d likely have only spun off a handful of the weaker brands.
Which would be right in line with the predicted and expected expected economic issues. That were projected to start hitting this year.
Unfortunately, spinning-off in this case doesn’t mean”selling.” Unilever still owns the ice cream business, it’s just getting “spun-off” into its own separate “ice cream” division. If Unilever actually sold Ben & Jerry’s to say someone like Coca-Cola it would be a bigger deal. This is a Wall Street PR nothing-burger.
I not gonna lie, every now and then I grab a caramel sutra, but only when it is offered free with store coupons. I also own a couple old Yetis (covered with based AF stickers, lol). My thought process on this is when the grand confiscation occurs, 'we the people' will own [them]. The real monetary goal in the meantime, IMHO, is to end taxation without representation.
Unilever sees them as a loss. They could give 3 shits about their political BS! It's all about profit. If they're losing profit on them, they get cut out.

LMAO
I’ve done this myself.
Kid Rock should take his machine gun and blast some B&J ice cream to smithereens.
I'm now going to be doing this, LOL!!!
It’s about time. Unilever must be looking to their bottom line.
