Doesn't matter who the captain was because he isn't in control of the ship in the harbor. The ships have an American pilot at the helm when entering/exiting the harbor. The pilot boards the ship out at sea then takes control and pilots it into the ship channel and docks it with the help of the tugs.
“Multiple people” were on the bridge when it collapsed, the chief of the Baltimore City Fire Department, James Wallace, said during a press conference.
Two people have been rescued from the water so far. One of them refused medical care, while the other is in “very serious condition,” Wallace said. The search continues for “upwards of seven people,” he added.
During the same press conference, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott described the collapse as an “unthinkable tragedy.” The efforts of the authorities are now focused on “folks we have to try to find and save,” he stated.

^This. One has to wonder WHO the pilot was?
I have seen no mention of casulaties yet.
Was there traffic on the bridge? I saw some just seconds before, and was trying to see if any fell in the water, but too fuzzy.
Did the ship go down? How many people on board?
They closed the bridge just a minute or so before the hit. A work crew was still on the bridge when it happened.
Thanks.
I found the information about possible caualties on RT. Trust Russians to worry about that bit.

Id like to see a casualty list. I have a feeling that the pilot will be on it.
