I think the growing obesity pandemic is from some combination of higher stress, PUFA(seed oils, ect), EMF, low sunlight, less natural light, lower dopamine, ect.
When I was a kid in the 70s there were no fat kids...as soon as the sun came up we ran rode bikes(helmets weren't invented yet)..played pick up games for whatever sport was happening..came home ate dinner and back out till the streetlights came on..now in summer I see zero kids out
However, if your diet is high in carbs, it will be much harder to accomplish your calorie goals as your insulin spikes at every meal and makes you hungrier.
"Bet you can't eat just one!"
You want to ensure you take in enough protein to maintain your muscles, so lower carbs is better there.
Keto or carnivore will keep your insulin levels in check and your body in fat burning mode for longer.
I've lost 8 inches off my waist in a year. Lost the first 6 inches just intermittent fasting (feeding window from Noon to 8PM each day) and eating whatever I wanted. I hit a plateau and quit losing weight so I switched my diet to keto (99% carnivore) just over a month ago and already lost an additional 2 inches.
Eat quality food, try to up metabolism and lower stress.
I think we want exercise, both for enjoyment and muscle building, but not to the point where it stresses the body. Like young kids, they exercise the fun amount, but don't override it when their body tells them to rest.
Replacing polyunsaturated fat with saturated(butter/coconut) is huge because the polyunsaturated fats lower metabolism and thyroid and cause constant low level biological stress. They also make the body store instead of using energy and mess up satiety signaling.
Yep. These people are literally starving. Their bodies crave nutrition and always telling them to eat. The tv tells them to eat crap and it doesn’t turn off the bodies satiety.
Yes. Apparently, once the polyunsaturated fats are making up the cell and mitochondria walls, from excess consumption, your body just stores stuff instead of burning it because all the signaling is off.
Excess fat is not pretty, but I don't think it is the result of eating too much or moving too little, like the regime tells us.
Old post about Biggest Losers lowering metabolism.

So what’s the solution then? Eat clean, exercise more, but don’t reduce calories?
You can lose weight just by counting calories.

That dude could live off his fat for months
But he wouldn't! He'd be the first in the emergency food handout line.
