Good for Babylon Bee!! There ARE lots of charlatans in the Christian church. Big religion, big pharma, big medicine, military industrial complex. Anywhere there is a chance to make money, people will take advantage. We need to have wide open eyes and use wisdom and discernment.

My SIL goes to a church and they have at least three offerings per Sunday service. One is the main offering and the additional ones are generally for their kids to go to a Central American country and spread the word. Makes me wonder why they need so much money? Shouldn't they be content with whatever the local folks want to give them? Why collect an offering so they can purchase new cloths and a new vehicle? Yea, it's a small church but the pastor constantly begs the congregation for donations to his kid. Ugh, I went once and saw through his scheme and decided something didn's pass the smell test.

A lifetime ago when I was working in Folsom Prison, I asked a soon to be paroled inmate what he was planning to do for a living when he got released. He smiled and said he was going to start a church. He didn't seem like a very religious person to me, so I asked him why. He said that being a preacher is the only job in the world, where people voluntarily come to your place of business once a week, and pay money just to listen to you say things they can read in the bible anytime. I never looked at churches the same way again after that.
