Not sure about the cross thing, but the switchblade did open. You can clearly see the open blade in photos of the initial strike.
The16yr old attacker was a fkn idiot kid who cut his own finger off in the attack. Sounds like the switch blade opened but didn't lock, then it closed shut on his finger on the first strike.
I think temporary powers is fine after an attack...but not if they can extend it, and not if it is an undefined length of time, and it should only apply within a certain distance of the attack.
Thanks for the update Purk. I've been trying to find info on his condition. God is awesome!

The priest was known for being anti covid lockdown and had a very large online audience. Called the lockdowns "mass slavery" and said the jab was pointless because of natural immune systems. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13309837/Who-Bishop-Mar-Mari-Emmanuel-Priest-Wakeleys-Christ-Good-Shepherd-Church-attacked-second-Sydney-stabbing-known-anti-vaxxer-huge-online-following.html
The attack is being treated as a terrorist attack, and police now have special temporary powers to stop/search you without a warrant because of this.

Thanks for this. Much less sensational but makes sense.
Someone posting sensationalist click-bait instead of taking 5 minutes to actually verify for themself what happened?

"10 days to stop the spread" has entered the chat.
We will see.

My post already precludes a 2 more weeks situation.
Nope.
So you don't believe they should be able to put a perimeter around the site of the attack and ensure that people aren't trying to finish the job?
