We have a Constitution which protects against cruel and unusual punishment... rope or firing squad are fine punishments for treason, no need for torture. God can deal with them
Indeed if treason weren't so insidious as if to be seeded even from an American prison I'd love to eliminate the "death penalty" all together and aim for maximum grace for all of America's adversaries regardless of their intellect and will.

Donβt even think of it as punishment.
Itβs removal of trust and faith for repentance, and rejection of long term imprisonment costs.
I am speaking of the method of execution.
No doubt. We agree about rope and firing squads, Iβm just elaborating on the mindset.

It's hasn't protected us the way I thought it would.... isn't it suspended during War?
I don't think so (idk though) and just because the enemy doesn't abide by it doesn't mean we should also break it imo
I'd rather have law & order... I'd like the Constitution to be followed, but it isn't.
I'd rather have the military handle it, but I wouldn't fault anyone for handling things themselves either....
